Til they also last 5 times less than other cars. Or at least the Byd electric cars supposedly fail in under 5 years at most.

It's a boy who cried wolf situation. Too many decisions driven by profit and greed led to a complete collapse in faith for public interest.
Doesn't matter if alternative ideas aren't grounded in reality, it matter that the mainstream can't be trusted.
The hypercapitalist behavior only takes and no longer delivers, as such it's being abandoned in droves by those who need actual care.
For example, "David Bersoff, head of research at the Edelman Trust Institute." sounds like an empty title, full of bullshit.

Dunno. Finished Metro Exodus in the weekend and now I’m thinking on where to go next.
They added OpenMW and Tamriel Rebuilt on GOG, so I might give Morrowind another go. But I’m not into lengthy endeavors anymore…

I'm going to try for the Witcher trilogy, but I can't say I'll follow through.

The reasons seem to be graphics. Set most of them to low and the problems disappeared for now.

Right now, my problem is technical. The first Witcher isn't made for modern systems, so it crashes a lot.
-
Cutscenes leading into loading screen will freeze the game. It happens when crossing from the prologue to first act.
-
if lighting isn't set go low in settings, cutscenes will start during combat
-
game can crash during combat
-
run too fast or too long, game crashes
-
try to exit the game normally, it stops responding.
It definitely did not age well.

Tales and Tactics. It's an auto battler like dota underlords where you merge chumps, give them items and set them on a table to beat each other off. Heavy reliance on RNG.

I liked it well enough. It’s a mix of open maps and linear corridors. It still uses morality points for good/bad ending. It’s like Dishonored in that.
The intermission scenes are not cinematics, so they can’t all be really skipped. It’s all together kinda telling you to chill.
I only played on normal, so there weren’t many issues with difficulty, more so if you stealth your way through it, and you can see there’s an intended way of participating in the story even though the player has some freedom.
Have to mention, I played the enhanced version because I didn’t really under the difference from regular one. And on the first run, it takes a very long time to compile shaders, so if the extra graphics don’t matter, the non-enhanced version is reportedly the same.

You can, with some. The launcher has an offline mode and a lot of the binaries within the install location can be run without the -epicportal requirement, but I'm unsure if you can also play them without keeping the launcher installed.
Depends on the game, I guess.

No high fantasy stuff comes to mind.
But CK2 has some overhauls, like game of thrones and possibly LOTR.
Stellaris might also have something, but I don't know because paradox's penchant for dozens of dlcs had me run away from it some years back.
Mount and Blade series have many overhauls and offshoots which focus on economy and warfare, but I don't know any to develop the marriage and vassal systems.
A bit shallow and disappointing would be Old World and Great Houses of Calradia. The former has a CK2 style of lineage system with marriages, raising children and taking up court positions, but it'll feel lacking for some unknown reason once you go in deep. The latter focuses a lot on diplomacy through marriage, but the company is gone and the game is incomplete, leaving it unpopular for modding options.
Alliance of the Sacred Suns is a game i thought had already arrived. It was touted at one point as CK in space, but who knows. It can still be a total disappointment.
There may be many others, like Total War types, but I am unaware of them right now.

Normally, sure. But these days, legalese can turn it into implied consent depending on court, judge, jury, accused and accuser.
It’s circumstantial and there will be arguers for both cases. So it won’t be a clear win in every case.
