To be clear, that means they are all terrible for you. I think that’s pretty much universally true of anything you can buy in a gas station.

Jack Smith might get a pass from me if Robert Mueller didn’t royally fuck up his investigation in full view of Smith for pretty much the same reasons. Smith definitely saw the way that played out and still waited 3 years too long to say stuff like what is quoted in this headline. Good for him for saying it eventually but if he wanted it to matter he’s way too late taking his stand and he should have known that better than anyone.

The unbounded profit motive, or more simply greed, ruins everything. This happens across time, continents, cultures, everything. It’s human nature, or at least common enough that we’ve never been able to do anything more than slow it down temporarily.

They made awful games so who cares. I don’t think even Activision could have made it more like a Call of Duty clone than 343 did.

Yeah, I don't think the two groups of people named in this post have much overlap. They seem pretty distinct to me as well

Honestly, eating vegan, or even vegetarian, is too much of a hassle for most people most of the time, and that's by design. So is eating anything that isn't 80% corn syrup and processed sugar. Our society prioritizes cheap and/or artificial over everything else. Until that changes at a systemic level people aren't going to change their eating habits. This is true for much more than just food as well. Most won't stop using plastic until the alternatives are cheaper and more accessible. Same with renewable energy, public transportation, pesticides, polyester clothing, etc. Most people are fundamentally lazy and will not go out of their way to do something beneficial for others unless they have a financial incentive to do so. Awareness of a problem only elicits a response in a small minority of the population.

Why would you want a constitutional convention? Ratification of a constitutional amendment requires acceptance by 75% of state legislatures. 60% of state legislatures are controlled by Republicans, which as I'm sure you know is the party causing the vast majority of the problems you are referring to. Nothing good would come from that unless you are the type who wants to enshrine anti-DEI bullshit in the constitution.

>any company who allows themselves to be cowed by his parlor tricks will lose investor confidence. That sounds like a pretty significant change in behavior to me. Do you have any reason to believe this is true and not just wishful thinking?

Theoretically they wouldn't have internet access if a previous occupant set them up unless one of your neighbors has an unsecured AP. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding you and you're saying you set them up on your wireless network after you moved in. Still a good move to get rid of them but I wouldn't be as concerned about them if the only AP they were set up to use was no longer present.

Have you had issues receiving group messages on e/OS? RCS is borked but I figured that would be the case. Not getting group texts is a problem though and I’ve tried every solution I can find but nothing seems to work.

No one is going to open a restaurant where the target market is “people who don’t go to restaurants”. If you don’t vote you don’t matter to politicians and that’s all there is to it.

The purpose of those programs is to increase turnout, not cater to the political leanings of likely non-voters. Dems don’t give a shit what those people want they just want them to vote because statistically they would vote for Dems. The issues important to those voters rarely come up which is exactly my point. I don’t really expect a well reasoned response from someone going around saying things like “the West can save Ukraine by disbanding NATO” though. Pull your head out of Putin’s ass and have your own thoughts.

If Dems primary concern is the will of their voters then why are they constantly doing things the majority of their voting base disagrees with? You’re acting like Dems know exactly what the people want when the central political problem in America for the last 15 years is that they either don’t know or don’t care. Also, if your own thoughts are not Russian propaganda then why is what you’re saying matching Russian propaganda word-for-word? Disbanding NATO doesn’t help anyone but Russia and somewhere in that brain of yours you know that. You’re twisting words to make unreasonable things sound reasonable on both of these issues

People who don’t eat at restaurants at all are obviously not the same as people who don’t eat at a restaurant that doesn’t exist. You said you understood that concept but then spent the rest of your comment describing people who want to eat at restaurants.

AI doesn’t build and maintain itself. Unless that changes, which I currently see no clear line of sight to, then it is just another asset primarily controlled and directed by rich people. Tools like that are always political.
