Hello, we have barely been able to access Flickr over the last month or so due to our email address expiring and being unable to log-on but email has been updated so we are back. Anyway, we were staying in our camper near Llyn Dinas so we crawled out at dawn to be greeted with this scene. www.facebook.com/beckyandadriansphotography

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness…

- Robert Frost. || insta || blog || photostream || During our initial trip to Northern California, I spent many hours searching for the best mountain viewpoints. At the time, online information was limited, and I struggled to find good spots. I visited a few, like Lake Siskiyou, but not many more. We surprisingly discovered one of the best views by accident. On our way back from Crater Lake, we took a turn and suddenly saw a stunning mountain view with the highway leading right to it. We quic

A Dot in the Arctic Vastness @ Ilulissat, Greenland

There is a strange kind of quiet that comes with sailing among the icebergs of Ilulissat. The air is crisp, the water is glassy, and every sound feels muffled by the sheer scale of frozen landscape surrounding you. When we spotted this red sailboat navigating through the bay, the contrast was unforgettable. But what caught my eye even more was what lay beneath the surface. Up top, the iceberg seemed manageable, just another piece of drifting pack ice. Looking down into the glacial water, though

St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery (Mykhaylivs’kyi zolotoverkhyi monastyr) is a functioning monastery in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The monastery is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River on the edge of a bluff northeast of the Saint Sophia Cathedral. The current church is already the fourth on this site. In the 1050s, Prince Izyaslav Yaroslavich, who took the Christian name Dmitry, built the Dmitrievsky Monastery with a church on a hill near the Sophia Cathedral. Then there was th

Building Static Site Infrastructure for Whatcom

Why static websites work so well for civic information A site like https://whatcomhealthcarealliance.org/ is a good reminder that not every important website needs a complicated stack. It can be a simple, fast, reliable place where people can find the information they need without friction. That is one of the strongest arguments for static websites: they make it easier to put clarity first. Static websites are often described as minimal, but that is not a weakness. In public information, a minim
