Raspberry Pi locks boards to factory RAM capacities in firmware — engineer tells DIY modders 'don't waste your time' trying repairs or upgrades, company cites shady reseller scams

SBC supremo blames firms buying cheaper Pis then swapping RAM with ICs ‘of dubious origin’ for this change.

Bushiroad seems to be raising the bar for just how awful an anime can be https://jacen.moe/rants/20260710-somehow-worse-than-ave-mujica-the-yume-mita-episode-4-rant/ #BanGDream #Bandori #YumeMita #MugendaiMewtype

Somehow Worse Than Ave Mujica - The Yume∞Mita Episode 4 Rant | Jacen Sekai

Beware of "Bang Dream! Yume∞Mita" spoilers I believe that Ave Mujica is the single worst piece of media to come out of Bushiroad, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks that. I've gone over my issues with it in-depth, so I won't rehash things here. What I will say is that Bushiroad seems to have learned nothing, because Yume Mita seems to be making a play at being even worse.

A Medalist Review | Jacen Sekai

Other than Bandori, I've been pretty out of the seasonal anime scene for a while, so I kind of missed the boat when Medalist originally came out last year, with its second season finishing a few months ago. Now that I've started reloading my Plex server, I decided that it would be the first new show I would watch start to finish as my entry back into the modern anime world. I don't really consider myself to be a media reviewer, but I decided I wanted to write about my thoughts on it. So, let's j

Working prototype of open-source printer that promises user-repairability and no subscriptions appears in first video — DRM-free 'Open Printer' inkjet still has no announced price, ship date, or print speed, nine months after it first appeared

The repairable Open Printer runs on a Raspberry Pi Zero W and refillable HP cartridges.

A Chaotic Weekend in Nashville - IndyCar 2026 Round 12 Recap | Jacen Sekai

A lot happened this weekend. There were several incidents across the practice sessions, rain delaying the race to Monday, and an adjustment in the race distance due to heat. With everything finally settled, let's take a look at what we can take away from this extended race weekend.

A Scorcher In Ohio - IndyCar 2026 Round 11 Recap | Jacen Sekai

I might be a bit biased, but Mid-Ohio is one of the best tracks on the schedule. It has lots of exciting corners to race through and usually brings some drama. It also helps that it's a home track for me and is the only race track I've ever been to in person. On top of the race weekend, however, we also have some wild developments in the world of silly season. Let's start unpacking.

Can This Make Me a World Champion? - The Difference VGC Notebook | Jacen Sekai

A notebook review is somewhat uncharted territory for me. I've read a lot of information from hobbyists about notebooks and pens, but I don't really claim to know much about them. Still, when Wolfe Glick announced his VGC notebook, I felt like I had to give it a try. Is it a fancy gimmick, or does it really provide the World Champ Difference? Only one way to find out.
