It's illegal to take photos and video in many courts, including all federal courts? Definitely one would need permission and can't do it surrepticiously. This is a slap in the face to the judge, and the courts, to flout their rules as if they were above them. And they were above them apparently, they didn't get held in contempt.

They know any contempt findings by the judge would be overturned by higher courts, or cancelled by the president as well, as long as they are up to date on their protection money and pay the deductible on their plan. And they think the judge wouldn't dare in the first place, and would probably retaliate against the judge in secret ways if she did do something, and get away with it.

Wtf is Ice doing with machine guns anyway. They run around american cities with assault rifles, and it makes us look like some third world war zone. That's never been a thing before now, and we shouldn't want to normalize federal agents carrying around automatics, as if they will need them like that. Let alone normalizing them executing american citizens without cause and then slandering them to justify it. The president all but cancelled the 2nd amendment while he was at it, and he never took that back, he switched up the guys in charge and pretended to back off. The precedent is set now, the feds can summarily execute under false pretense in full view of cameras and they will still lie to justify it, and the state will not even charge. That is the precedent the feds were trying to set, for the elections. They want to establish the states being powerless to curtail federal agents. What a fucking joke no red state would allow that. There is no investigation of the incident, they are investigating protocols, not the agents. State prosecutors need to charge both summary executions, and they should file recall petitions if they don't. It's important.

Defying a judge's order, in a way that would allow the mega corporation to identify jurors, and influence them through proxies, is quite serious. They have the motive, means, and opportunity to do so, and would get away with it if they did in all likelihood at most paying a settlement of cash.

These Silicon Valley parasites are taking way more than a fair share. Every industry is Consolidated and the few gatekeeping corporations left take more than their fair share that is the entire problem. Capitalism does not work without controls. Never has, never will. This absolute free market talk has always been ad hoc, to further the business interests of those making the arguments.

That is one of the ways they avoid taxes. They take out loans to pay old loans and to spend on the value of their investments at good rates, and since they never realize income they never pay taxes. I think interest is even tax deductible to a degree. Bezos in 2020, a year his wealth multiplied obscenely, paid 600 dollars. Less than we did. As per a couple of propublica articles they published around 2021.

This is significant if they actually pay it, it's a drop in the bucket for their market capitalization, but as to the actual money they have it's a very large amount, they don't make that much money it's all imaginary stock prices not earnings. I'm sure they will appeal it until they get it cancelled.

Yes and no. Engaging won't do shit. We need to organize into unions, separate from work, to cooperate on what we agree on, left and right, as defined currently from inside the colon of the oligarchy. We need to go straight back into the sun, then get our bearings. Reject labels, organize.

Classic case of yes men-ism. Everyone around zuck tells him he's the greatest, smartest, infallible. He likely removed anyone from his life that was willing to tell him he was wrong. He is making money hand over fist, and believes it, he's special, the laser light of all knowledge shines out of his ass, don't look directly at it or you can go blind. So he gets an idea, tells his people how he thinks everyone could get into it, they all heartily agree, what a great idea zuck! I bet if anyone did tell him it wasn't, he fired or removed them from his life, and still hasn't apologized or made amends about it too, and instead doesn't hold any sort of grudge against the people that told him he was right despite knowing better and being too craven to tell the truth.

Maduro was given up by venezuela's military though. That operation was not possible, and indeed would not have been attempted, if the military hadn't entered into an agreement to stand down, and given intelligence. Helicopters are vulnerable to multiple weapons systems they couldn't reliably take out, not the least in one of the most protected places in the country with the country mobilized. There is no question, the military is now the de facto power, overseeing the now puppet civilian government in selling out their assets, an old cold war template. 'As such, they would not be able to do that in Iran. What they could do, is assassinate their leaders, including the ayatollah. They have everything compromised more than Iran thinks too, they could. Only the US likely stopped netanyahu from doing so already. As to invasions, it has a lot of mountainous areas, and is several times larger than Iraq, which is mostly flat. We could go through and blow shit up with impunity, but an Iraq style invasion is out of the question unless our leaders lose their minds quite a bit more. Not that they wouldn't try anyway but not now they want to make war on America.

Good god I figured it must have been wrong as it's such a large amount of money. I wonder how much of that they borrowed and how much they paid in cash. They might be paying astronomical interest payments on all of that. Just goes to show how we have all the wrong people in charge in the west, at every level from government to business from the ceo on down to middle managers. Zuck is case and point. Well, as someone else posted, this article about their failure has legs. Unlike his stupid metaverse, that no one seemed even slightly interested in from the start.

Carcass shot was at least originally out of howitzers with a fuse to blow over the heads of the fired on. And it was like gunpowder and I think turnpentine and I forget wrapped in canvas with iron rings around it, the iron rings would turn into shrapnel when it exploded. Every so often the fuse would fault and blow up the gun crew.

We are falling for it again too in the Iran propaganda, using the protesters as pawns to drum up support for more bad faith attacks on Iran. As if they give a shit about protesters here, or military action would help protesters. For all intents and purposes Iran has remained at war with Israel and the US for the last two years, any protests while at war runs into the rally around the flag effect, and the west leaned into associating itself with the protesters, and no doubt helped them make a public spectacle, just to get them crushed by the State that is rallying around the flag while being attacked by a hated enemy they just watched carry out the reprisals against their gazan and west bank ghettos for two years. Just using those protesters as pawns, it's obvious what they are doing, just as it was obvious they were playing us on drumming up cause for the Iraq war. But people will fall for it and then well after the fact realize they were duped, after it is too late. It doesn't matter if their protesters are in the right, have a point, should be safe protesting, what have you. They are in effect still at war, their enemy is using them for that war and associated themselves with those protesters, and as such it will be ruthlessly crushed by the State, it's not fair but it's clearly the case. Instead westerners are left thinking Iran is on the brink of a revolution to reinstate the hated Shah. All so Israel can use their epstein blackmail to force the US to start their forever war with Iran that they can continually find new pretexts to violate any peace deal, reaching across and killing their leaders and ruining infrastructure with impunity.

But we can't tell the difference between the "far left" and far right. The one is threatening to fix elections and have a madman in absolute power to use dishonest arguments to eliminate half the population and enslave developing countries, and the other wants not pay more money for less in by private trusts overcharging us, and doesn't think working people should get screwed without their consent, and wants equal rights for people, and believes in the tenants of the Bill of Rights. /s Can't tell you guys apart!

I think it would be unfair to just decide to behead them. We should have like a lottery, or contest, where people can submit suggesions for execution methods, I for instance think we should throw them off of high places, like the grand canyon, or a skyscraper. Maybe from Mount Rushmore from teddy roosevelt's head. Others might prefer to bend back tree limbs and tie them to their limbs, then release the bent limbs to have the tree recoil and tear them apart, trult a classic. Or a large heavy rock being put over them that crushes them for days. We could have a game show even to determine it, or a contest of some sort.

It's new tech that is coming online and they are trying to surrender us to it, to bring this trojan horse behind the walls of liberal democracy. To let Palantir and like companies to decide winners and losers, what jobs you can get, loans, what search engines will even show you, what prices you are charged, how the government treats you, how businesses treat you, etc. All in a way not attributed to it, that you can never know and never challenge.

Facebook itself sucks now. It is not a feed of your contacts' posts, it's all groups, I have no control over that feed, unless I look up each friend individually I only get to see what they choose to show me, which is maybe one every 10 listings on the feed. It's super glitchy, especially from my phone, posts just disappear with no trace, I am unable to use it in a dozen ways that they never bothered to fix. It's getting worse as well. Total garbage. And they are losing critical mass, as they suck more people leave, it's mostly the older people that are still using it all the time that I've seen. We need a fediverse alternative, hopefully where it can interact with other forums on the fediverse like lemmy and mastadon.

That is quite a bit, I just looked up their Price to Earnings Ratio to just see how much it's changed and it's 380. Typical P/E ratios are like 12/1. 12 price to 1 earning. It's insanely overvalued still it defies logical explanation there is no way they ever make enough money to justify 1,540,000,000,000 market price, with 3,750,000,000 shares valued at 412 right now.

I'm pretty sure they fired chain shot from single barreled cannon. On ships, they have two cannonballs connected with a chain and they powder the barrel and load them both in the barrel, then when they fire it the balls spread out and it takes down rigging and masts on ships.

You are describing the courts like how they are supposed to work, not how they work. They are biased in favor of the powerful. Whether the law was applied correctly doesn't matter so much as who is the company appealing, and perhaps what consideration they can provide under the table. It's a lot more corrupt than you would lead us to believe here, courts by and large think the republic is already dead in all but name, the higher up the chain you go the more that's true.

Yes mechanized troll legions, now entirely autonomous trollbots. You have to ban som users I am sure. For the fediverse to take off, it needs to be better than reddit, and to thst end, instances should adopt a clear set of rules, where violations can be appealed all the way to a jury of users. Because powerful interests have their hooks in reddit and induce them to violate users on other issues that are not even ahainst the rules, . Argue with some israeli trollcheerers and you will soon see what I mean. It will only get worse, we can safely presume the government is and will be moreso giving users to ban. Perhaps mostly through contractors to avoid another homeland security leak. Whole instances should not be banned or blocked to everyone in the instance either.
