You know it’s going to be a good week when by lunchtime on Monday you’ve already had to a) reflash your laptop’s BIOS to get external displays working again and b) remove and replace the bottom case to unstick the fan and prevent it from overheating.

Saw a Lexus LBX on my walk home and thought “that looks rather like a Toyota Yaris”. Sure enough, they’re built on the same platform.

Wipr is a great ad-blocker and I look forward to trying out its new Filtr feature.

I wrote about Filtr, a new feature in the popular ad blocker Wipr, which now blocks ads in almost every iPhone, iPad, and Mac app — and not just the Safari browser. Uses a new feature in iOS/macOS 26 to block ads at the network level. (Yes, I realize the irony that TechCrunch blocks ad-blockers. 😑) https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/04/filtr-is-a-new-privacy-tool-that-blocks-ads-in-almost-every-iphone-and-mac-app

A major UK-wide project by researchers at Oxford University, asking people for their views on their local area and the issues that effect society. https://www.national-conversation.ox.ac.uk

The National Conversation

I just took part in The National Conversation to share my views on what it's really like living in our area right now. It's a major UK-wide project by researchers at Oxford University, and it only takes a few minutes. You should have your say too!

@roddie@roddie.social Yeah, though I’m glad it never actually became a real issue!
