@martinvermeer @pvonhellermannn The reason it is being investigated as terrorism is because, on the face of it, it is a terrorist act per s1 Terrorism Act 2000. The fact that the suspect may have also been mentally unwell doesn't contradict that. It may be that when the bones are picked out of the investigation that this is a racially aggravated s18/attempted murder but to launch this as a terrorism investigation is hardly a step too far (and probably of significant relief to CE CID who would have had to have run it had CTC not picked it up). I don't usually reply to these sorts of posts when I see them because sometimes it easier to say nothing at all, but the idea that someone has decided that their equally uninformed view is the right view that they must explain to family member who apparently doesn't know any better has got my goat right up. There is nothing in the reporting, or the BWV, that would suggest that the focus of the investigation is somehow incorrect.

@briankrebs in a previous life I used to answer letters at no10 (temping had some strange gigs in the late '00s!) and we got loads of these. I think if you have an open method of contact and have some sort of profile, then you will inevitably be sought out. On the plus side, at least with LLM assistance they will have the appearance of coherence, my favourites were the ones who ended up writing in a spiral. You needed ten minutes off after trying to decipher one of those bad boys

@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place I picked up Tinystart for the Mac by @nileane@nileane.fr which is probably exactly the sort of thing you’re after. It’s as useful as Raycast but without all the VC and AI bollocks, and only costs a fiver.

@pvonhellermannn Alternatively, this was a terrorist act and the stabbing of his colleague was down to the fact that the suspect was also a bellend. non-fatal stabbings are not exactly rare, most won't make the news. Targeted stabbings such as this *are* rare and do make the news. You say "it's worth taking the time to talk people through this", presumably you have access to intelligence/sources that they do not, or are you putting your own spin on it because MSM, the met etc?
