RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@lritter/116413983517813789

That paniq/lritter is writing MCP servers now was not on my bingo card this year. Anyway, kinda cool to see old demo scene veterans that inspired me a bunch using my little (maybe albeit not great) protocol.

Attached: 1 image okay. there is an experimental llama.cpp flag "--webui-mcp-proxy", not to be used in production, which puts a proxy in front so the CORS interface (?) that the browser needs is available. you also have to check "use llama-server proxy" in the webui, and then it connects properly. #s0up

Replying to
@torgo because you are cherry picking. There is plenty of positive impact like https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-025-04176-7 and lots of others. As with every technology there will be horrible use and we have to go and fix that as providers and as policies. Generalization here doesn’t help.

An LLM chatbot to facilitate primary-to-specialist care transitions: a randomized controlled trial - Nature Medicine

In a trial involving 2,069 patients and 111 clinicians across 24 disciplines, patients performing a preconsultation session with an LLM-powered chatbot had a significantly lower consultation time and both patients and clinicians reported improved communication and satisfaction.

Hmm. Models can now find 23 year old exploitable heap overflows in critical software, such as the Linux Kernel: https://youtu.be/1sd26pWhfmg?si=9R06AEtyCuKNE9YJ

@lritter@mastodon.gamedev.place one of the problems with “getting to know your enemy” and using local only models, is that there is a substantial difference in capability and the conclusions drawn from one might not apply to another one. I am curious how you think about that issue. I get the moral concern. Of course I have a different position and work for one of the big LLM providers. I did find most local models quite underwhelming thus far tho and not representative of what models can do (for better or worse)

@torgo I tend to agree. Image gen so far seems to have been more on negative side.

@wink@chaos.social k8s always connects via http right ? Apparently there were proposals for yubikey integration to kubectl but that was declined.
