Oh good lord… #Sheffield braces itself once again for the key event in our cultural calendar.
Digging the look of the new buses for #Sheffield / #SouthYorkshire - yes “People’s Network” is a bit 'Continuity Corbyn' & yes it's 🇳🇱 Dutch AF (we've done this before, *cough* Tramlines branding) - nothing wrong with that.
Who knows, it might hint at better cyclist vibes? #YorkshireYorkshireYorkshire 🚌 #SYMCA

A delightfully presented dive into the state of those common patterns for which we've developed JS libraries and can now be entirely replaced by modern #CSS : https://blog.gitbutler.com/the-great-css-expansion
I love @alifeee@mastodon.social 's #Sheffield events bot (@events) - it's genuinely how I find stuff to do with the kids in town.
Leveraging #ActivityBot and some selector-heavy scraping. #FrontEndSheff
This article from @mdn@mastodon.social is fascinating. Especially:
> Really, MDN isn't a particularly complex site […] The vast majority of content on an MDN documentation page is HTML and CSS: we don't need a complex app powering the majority of the site. We essentially have islands of interactivity, which could easily all be implemented as web components.

Shocked as you are! The #LostDecade of Front End strikes again.
My favourite use of an LLM for good (this week): Helping to protect the mental health of the interns at the NY Times (who'd otherwise probably be responsible for transcribing this crap): https://www.niemanlab.org/2026/02/how-the-new-york-times-uses-a-custom-ai-tool-to-track-the-manosphere/
CKEditor (and by extension, #CraftCMS) just got a huge 'glow-up' when it comes to tables: they can turn into quite fiddly things, but this change should fix most of the struggles I (well, my content editors) had with them in this CMS.
I know. Boring old tables! - but here's the thing: In this age of #GEO presenting tabular data concisely can be a huge #SEO advantage and there are many cases where it's the right choice in terms of reader comprehension too.

I know no one really cares about this (2 similar tickets closed due to lack of interest), but I think it's a shame that #ZedEditor has made it to v1 (congrats btw) and dark themes are still a bit broken on MacOS: https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/5049
This #WordPress takedown is savage: https://marcindudek.dev/blog/wordpress-manifesto/
Completely reasonable points, unfortunately. Except I will say on the 'Community' point, that is a little unfair - when I was part of this community many parts of it were very welcoming.
Good of them to land it somewhere they don't care about in case they had an accident. More benefits of the #SpecialRelationship
