For the Steam Frame, x86-64 is run through a compatibility layer already anyway, so who’s to say that would be any better than the Lepton compatibility layer? At least for Frame users, obv.

Lowkey how I version number personal mini-projects and small things I roll out for my team.
I guess more like:
x.. "huge new feature, scope expansion, or cool shit."
.x. "small feature, or fixing a serious bug"
..x "testing something. Didn't work. Try again +1."
I'm not ashamed it didn't work. I swear!

Over-ear headphones help with this. Then you can just ignore them and pretend you can't hear.
(My neurospicy is showing...)

Oh, I very much doubt it. AI just introduces lots of new kinds of problems to solve.

WiFi mesh networks can have impressive range outdoors, without walls and reflections blocking the wifis. And they can be powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) so you only need to run 1 cable to hook it up.
But for most of my work, a cellphone hotspot is suitable, so long as it's not so remote that I don't get at least a strong 4G signal. Video conferencing isn't very data intensive with compression and, if I'm not running the meeting, slight spottiness is fine.

Wasps. Fuck wasps.
If not for wasps, my family would eat outside most of the summer. As it is, it's either wasps writing 3 minutes of bringing food outside, or a wind strong enough to blow the wasps and our food away.

The average cost per square foot of a new condo was $1,189 in the first quarter compared with an average resale price of $859, a 38 per cent difference.
Seems like a weird way to frame that number. Sure, 1189/859 is 1.38, but that's the percentage resale prices would need to rise to match new unit build costs. The way it's framed sounds like they mean 859/1189 ("prices of resales are lower than the costs of new builds by x%"), which is .72, a 28% difference.
Math nerd alert.
Seriously, though, I would expect better from a financial news publication. AI slop, I'm guessing. (Edit: not the whole article, mind, I just mean that number framing and/or calculation looks, to me, like a typical AI error. The rest of the article is well written, imho.)

And "Windows" games run better in Linux/Proton. It's more like a re-implementation of a feature set, right? Like, I could see devs targeting Proton *as* the primary target sometime in the future. That's kinda how some multiplatform systems work already, going all the way back (at least) to "Java apps" in the 90s. (I can't think of any older examples off the dome, but I only got into coding in a big way in the 00s, so I'm not confident.)

My DBA friend builds a lot of sets for school productions and community theatre. It’s only a matter of time…

Meh. I like seeing it. I don’t spend a lot of time thinking/worrying about it, but it’s a nice data point to keep up with.
As with most “computer geeks” forced to use Teams/M365, I have a strong reason to want more people comfortable switching to open source. The faster we can ditch American property slopware, the better.
