My completely unprecedented streak of creating and actually finishing things is still going strong!

Really proud to have made this for the 2026 #Solarpunk #Art Collab, and to contribute the Story Seed Library 💛

Story Seed Library

Neighbourhood Care

It’s the third flood in as many years, but these neighbours have built a pretty resilient local system to prepare themselves. Basement apartment residents are boxing up their treasured memories and preparing to catch the last community bus service across town, or for sleepovers with their upstairs neighbours. Projector drones, equipped with latest forecasts, are followed around by the local children brandishing chalk, marking up the walls so the sandbag teams know how high to stack before moving

Why building inspiring alternatives is necessary to counter authoritarianism | Countercurrents

We are heading down a perilous road. Vulnerable communities face growing threats. The climate crisis is outpacing scientists’ worst predictions. Authoritarianism is no longer a distant possibility…

I've been working on SLRPNK since my post yesterday popped off and it's looking a lot nicer now 💚

My goal for this is to be a rabbit hole that people can fall down every once in a while to find new ideas, media or resources, that inspire people to take action.

Keeping it simple for a while, but feedback is appreciated. Will likely keep adding new links as I find them.

I've been interested in the idea of #Solarpunk #photography for a while.

I still haven't had a chance to organise a shoot, but I did recently attempt to create #rawtherapee #presets to try to capture the vibe of Solarpunk art.

Tested it out today with #photos from the local #repaircafe and quite like the results (even though I designed this for use on outdoor images.)

Really lovely video from Co-operatives UK and Tony Walsh: "This Beautiful Idea."

Would love to see this shared far and wide and get a few more people curious enough to do their own research on co-ops

This little guy let me know how he was feeling after we accidentally trapped him in the seal of our window for a couple of hours 🙁

Replying to

@nspugh@toot.wales @thegreenparty@mastodonapp.uk @ZackPolanski@mastodon.green I think the right made an error in making their base care about specific policies, to the point where we have new righter, British-er parties every few months. Restore are likely at 5-6% now. Long term, I think it leads to their voters doing research and realising none of them are offering what they need. Will it happen fast enough? Unsure. But, Greens remaining prominent with a consistent set of values could catch all sorts of voters of the next few years.

Replying to

@cmconseils@mastodon.social We were discussing something similar the other day and came to the conclusion that pop music is too weird & interesting right now and other genres are suffering.

I kinda want to learn how to build desktop programs to make offline tools.

Is #Tauri the way to go? I'm pretty much starting from scratch with any of the options I've come across in my minimal research.

I tend to build things around data of some kind - I'd like to upgrade an old Google Sheets budget tracker to be less... Googley. I'm still on Windows, but will be exploring Linux as soon as I have the mental bandwidth. Would like to build stuff that works on both.
