Which model do you use and what are your specs? I ran a couple using an RTX5060 with 16gb and it's too slow to be usable for larger models while the smaller ones are mostly useless.

I have used Ollama so far and it’s indeed quite slow, can you recommend a good guide for setting up llama.cpp (on linux). I have Ollama running in a docker container with openwebui, that kind of setup would be ideal.

Agree with all of this, but why then does the author stay on HN? It’s as with Xitter, at some point staying on the platform makes you complicit.

Maybe you’re failing to realize that all you’ll ever have of anyone is the idea of them in your head. The only difference is that with AI you can be sure that idea is 100% based on artificial feedback and with people you can’t.they did in fact open source their drivers and I haven’t had problems with Nvidia cards on Linux since years
