Optimized for an Australasian-friendly time on March 17, this ARK identifier presentation is actually equivalent to March _16_ at 17:00 in San Francisco and 20:00 in New York.
2025 has been a great year for the ARK Alliance. The 1720+ ARK organizations include 12 national libraries, 215 universities, 254 archives, 144 museums, 124 journals, and 59 scientific centers.

Registration is free for this one-hour tutorial on ARK persistent identifiers for citation to scientific and cultural heritage.
Nov 17 (Mon) 04:00 - 05:00 UTC
This one-hour tutorial introduces ARK (Archival Resource Key) persistent identifiers. As decentralized, non-paywalled PIDs (persistent identifiers, permalinks) for information objects of any kind, ARKs support web addresses that do not break (e.g., that do not return 404 Page Not Found).
The first Archival Resource Key (ARK) Community call will be Friday 14 November 2025 at 0800 PST / 1100 EST / 1600 UTC. Everyone is welcome to join this 1-hour meeting. Register here: https://unt.zoom.us/meeting/register/fXQ8DcWiSqq8XjrPUsp39A
In September the ARK Alliance (arks.org) will convert its documentation practices to align with modern form ARKs, the most visible difference being removal of the slash ('/') at the end of "ark:/". This is a non-breaking change -- two ARKs that differ only in form are considered equivalent in perpetuity. Exciting new tool from the Frick Collection, built on top of "arklet" from the Internet Archive. It adds improved security and bugfixes, as well as bulk operations, suffix passthrough, shoulder rules, extensive metadata, endpoints for ?info and ?json, and more. https://arks.org/news/2024-11-11-arklet-frick-ark-minter-resolver-tool/
Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI) announced in November 2025 that LA Referencia will receive up to US$1.5M in funding as one of the inaugural winners of the IOI Network Adoption Fund. https://arks.org/news/2025-12-12-ioi-supports-la-referencia-and-dark/
The next ARK (Archival Resource Key) Community Call will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026 at 0800 PDT / 1100 EDT / 1500 UTC.

Everyone is welcome to join this 1-hour meeting, which is part of a series of open calls engaging the broader community interested in using ARK persistent identifiers (PIDs). The draft agenda (https://github.com/arks-org/arks.github.io/wiki/2026-05-07-Open-ARK-Community-Call-Agenda-and-Notes) includes open discussion.
