Women make 23% more in a unionized trade than non-union counterparts. In a union, you cannot get paid less because you’re a woman, and that happens frequently in non-union work, so the wage gap is less. https://people.com/woman-in-the-trades-says-women-can-make-over-usd40-an-hour-exclusive-12137269

Only 13% of women have hands large enough to comfortably play repeated, fast octaves on a standard piano vs 76% of men. Smaller-handed pianists get injured more often & blame their bodies instead of the design. Women are as innovative as men, but the risks are higher because women aren't guaranteed that creativity will be well received. They must have psychological safety, which requires minimizing the costs associated with taking intellectual risks. https://www.fastcompany.com/91573368/for-women-being-creative-at-work-comes-with-a-price

Focusing on tradwife vs girlboss serves a political purpose. Instead of focusing on why families can't keep up with the cost of living, policymakers shift blame to whether women work outside of the home. Thus the economic questions receive far less attention. https://www.forbes.com/sites/juliakorn/2026/07/20/the-real-cost-of-the-trad-wife-vs-girlboss-debate-what-america-isnt-talking-about/

The Invisible Work Draining Your Best Employees

Most leaders assess workload through hours, deadlines, and output, but these measures overlook the mental load employees carry: the ongoing cognitive and emotional effort required to manage tasks, relationships, and coordination at work and at home. When these loads collide, they fragment attention, complicate prioritization, and create persistent exhaustion. The result is reduced focus, slower decision-making, and increased risk of burnout and attrition. Managing mental load is less about reduc

Tradwifery is a trap. Without a career, Christine has surviving off of a small salary as a hotel staffer since divorcing. “When I filed for divorce, I learned very quickly that I had even less control over my life & finances than I’d thought.” https://nypost.com/2026/07/07/lifestyle/ex-tradwives-over-35-deatil-dark-side-of-the-viral-lifestyle/

Having men in nursing is important. If there were more, then maybe male nurses would stop being mistaken for doctors. Role incredulity in the opposite direction (usually it is women doctors being mistaken for nurses.) https://www.npr.org/2026/07/21/nx-s1-5869813/nursing-men-jobs-male-nurses

Amid nurse shortage, a university rolls out the welcome mat for men

Only about 1 in 8 nurses are men, but their share is growing. A strong job market for nurses and sustained efforts to recruit men into the field have made a difference, including in the South.

Study of 1,029 unpaid caregivers ages 40 - 75 caring for adults 55+, women are more likely than men to be caring for a spouse (20% vs 15%). Spousal caregiving is more demanding: the caregiver is on duty around the clock and has fewer natural breaks. https://www.forbes.com/sites/lizelting/2026/07/28/nearly-half-of-full-time-workers-juggle-caregiving-responsibilities-and-theyre-falling-behind-at-work-because-of-it/

Female ER physicians order more tests and admit more patients than male physicians,

A new UCLA Health study examining more than 1.5 million emergency department (ED) visits found that female physicians request more imaging and laboratory tests and admit more patients to the hospital than their male counterparts working alongside them. But the added testing was just as likely to uncover important findings, suggesting the additional care may have been clinically appropriate.
