This one gives me similar vibes to the last Beatles single, Now And Then. Nostalgic, melancoly and not particularly musically interesting. I'm glad Paul's still making music, though.

@jezdez@mastodon.social Not sure I qualify as self-hosted, because a company is doing my hosting (masto.host), but: maintenance has been zero.
The biggest pitfall has been: I feel like I'm at a disadvantage in terms of discoverability. People on larger instances benefit from the "Explore" section, but you don't get that if you're on your own instance.
At any rate, if you're able to pay for a self-hosted instance, I'd say give it a try — it seems to be easy enough to switch instances.
