It is time for an introduction! 👀
🌍 What is ACCESSTECH? 💻
Technology is a big part of our lives—but can everyone use it easily?
At #ACCESSTECH, we want to make sure tech works for disabled people too. We work together to ask important questions and learn how access to technology can be better for everyone.
very excited to share our work here on Mastodon! :D

Everyday InAccessibility - Today: Robin
"My partner and I are an international #deaf couple. We want to enjoy movies together, each with #subtitles in our own language. But it’s much harder than it should be.
🎬 Cinemas don’t offer dual subtitles, so we rely on technical solutions. Yet, the few available tools are often faulty, not cross-platform, or simply unreliable.
🫠 Why is it so difficult to learn languages and enjoy movies together, accessible?"
Important takeways from yesterday:
👉 Centering failure as a path to queer utopias and radical accessibility: Failure, often dismissed under capitalism, can transform and empower, opening space for reimagined queer futures.
👉 Imagine theater where sign language is fully integrated—not just translated—making accessibility a core experience.
