Hallituksen #säästötoimet, osa 59: pakotetaan pitkäaikaissairaat + vammaiset työnhakijoiksi ja kun siitä ei tule mitään, pääsee rangaistukseksi leikkaamaan alintakin perustukea.
Jo ruuhkautuneet työllisyyspalvelut ovat pulassa, kun mahdollisuus työllistymiseen on nolla mutta sama prosessi käytävä kaikkien kanssa. Toimeentulotuen perusosaa on ehditty puolittaa sanktiona lähes 7 000 tuensaajalta parissa kkssa.
Tämä tuntuu jo sadismilta.

Minä sain kerran nuorempana tuopillisen olutta päähäni, täydehkön, koska kerroin nauraen kaverilleni jotain juttua soRauttaen äRRiä.
Se kuulemma loukkasi ihmisiä joilla on tämä vaiva sekä erästä aiempaa turkulaista Miss Suomea.

Midges are basically flies, not mosquitoes. Their breeding cycle is totally different and they don't lay eggs in standing water.
So no, unfortunately.

Climate in Scandinavia doesn't allow fish in ornamental ponds (not very common either), but in the summer we still get loads of mossie larvae, swimming eg in water barrels collecting rainwater under spouts.
Adding (non toxic) dish washing liquid to the barrel breaks the surface tension and drowns the larvae. (Also makes the water foam in hard rain 😅) It's still ok for watering plants and random chores.

There are so many and all indigenous to continents and zones and area types (both mossies and midges).
Changing also within the season - different biting bugs in early summer than later, for example.
Main difference is that mossies sting (have a "needle") and midges bite (look like flies, have "jaws") Much like horseflies but microscopic in comparison.

Like comparing sheep and goats, both go "BAA" and give milk but are totally different animals.
Just like horseflies, midges have a mouth with blades, they cut a wound and lap the blood from it.

Birds don't go in the barrels to bathe (and zero drownings 🙏🏽🙏🏽 in my 20+ years here)
I wouldn't use any soap in a bird bath, for example.
This is now, just took it. Very early in the season, no mossies yet, but water level is often quite low (unless super rainy summer).

It is dangerous for cyclists and electric scooters (pits, holes and thresholds on cycle lane) plus way too narrow, eg impossible to overtake a slower cyclist if there's any oncoming bikes. Which there is all the time.
