It has been 11 years since death inexplicably refused to give you back.

You still remain the person who has had the biggest influence on me.

Nanny Ogg teaches me to enjoy life.
Granny Weatherwax teaches me to trust in myself, and not to treat people as things
Magrat teaches me that it is ok not to know exactly what I am doing all the time, but to do things I think are important, even if those older and allegedly wiser don't really agree.
Vimes teaches me about determination, family and justice.

There are so many more lessons I learnt from the world you created, and I would not be me without the Discworld.

I firmly believe that all 14 year olds should surreptitiously be given Pratchett by someone that isn't a parent.

Especially if they live in a household where they have to hide it because it contains witches.

They are books that teach you how to think, even in the face of extreme authority.

This is my story. I would be a much worse person without having Pratchett books in my life.

Where else is the doomscrolling stopped by peas, ginger cake and cute animal pictures

For years I thought the Met Gala had something to do with the police in London and could never understand why all the celebs wanted to be seen at it.

My good news of the day:

• I am having a much needed operation that will hopefully have a positive knock on effect on my wider health

• Tiny Dog is enjoying her snuggles

• My Eldest child is still visiting

Evening,

Today I am grateful:
- that my Eldest got home without mishap
- that I managed to do a small amount of study
- that I had the time and space to nap safely
- that the sun shone brightly through my window
- that there are daffodils growing in my garden

These small things are worth concentrating on, because these are the things I can do something with, and enjoy.
I cannot do anything about the global situation and so I choose to look just into my bubble and do what I can to make my little sphere a better space for me and those around me.

Ok, in my apple yesterday some of the seeds had sprouted.

If I stick them in some soil, what will I have to do to not get in the way of it growing?

I have the opposite of greenfingers - plants normally see me coming and die to save time.

Should I stick them in some compost in a little pot? I don't want to just get soil from the garden because it is full of other things and mostly clay.

How do I give these little seeds the best chance of life? Please explain like you are talking to a child as I have no prior knowledge. Thank you
