In this day and age, I’m genuinely unsure if this screen cap is a person making a joke, or an anti-vaxxer being oblivious and stupid. It really could be either one.

In 2004 I had a cat. My cat was one of those cats who lives exclusively for food. She would happily lay in the lap of Hitler, if Hitler had some food for her. So first thing, I always feed the cats. Then I can go sit down on the couch, and wake up in peace. One day we went through that routine. I put the food in their bowls, set it down, and then go sit down. As I go sit on the couch, IMMEDIATELY after sitting down, I mean my butt wasn’t even fully rested on the couch cushion yet, my food loving cat pokes her head around the corner, and lets out a cry. The other cat was in the background, just looking at me like “Yeah, maybe you should come see this…” I walk in, and see a mouse in their food bowl, just gobbling it up. I look at my cats, and I’m like “You guys know you’re cats, right? That’s a mouse. You ever see Tom and Jerry? C’mon. Get to work.” And they just stared at me. Probably on account of the fact that they don’t know English, or American pop culture from the 1950s. So they just sat there, watching the mouse eat their food. So I got an oven mitt, and a leather glove. I picked up the whole food dish, walked it outside, walked across the street, and dumped the mouse down a sewer. Then I came back inside, with their food bowl, and my cats were just staring at me like “Food?” And I said “I don’t know why you’re looking at me! You’re always begging for more food. That was free protein right there.” To which she responded “Meow?” Eventually I had to clean their dish out, and get ANOTHER can of cat food ready for them. So really it depends on your cat how much of a threat they’d be. My mom had an outdoor cat in the early 90s. Very loving to my mom, and the guy she was dating. I didn’t live there, so the cat didn’t afford me the same love. But that cat knew how to hunt. I wouldn’t have been surprised to learn it somehow took down a gazelle. So it all just depends. Is your cat a hunter…or a pussy?

It really doesn’t need to be though. Let’s say he has a shitty little rocket. Ok. So now lets shoot the rocket at the warship. Ok, it didn’t do much damage. Maybe it was even shot down by anti-air defenses. Now try shooting 900 of them at the ship. They’re cheap, they’re disposable. Sure, the anti-air might shoot a lot down, but you’re shooting down a $3 rocket with a 1 million dollar anti-air missile. Even if you never hit the ship, you’re causing financial drain that cannot be sustained. You spend $10,000 on $3 rockets, fire them all off all day and all night, and the USA is using military grade defenses. That $10,000 might drain the USA half a billion dollars just to defend one ship. Now scale that for every ship in the military. Little tiny unmanned rafts basically, shooting off cheap rockets at close range, and being defended by expensive ammo. All across the ocean. With the proper planning, you could probably drain the USA’s global navy in a day without sinking, or even hitting a single ship. All without losing anything at all.

That reminds me of when I was in kindergarten. Obviously cats aren’t going to start repeating things you yell at them, but kids do. The first day of kindergarten when we went around the room introducing ourselves, it was like this: “Hi, I’m Amanda. Hi, I’m Mike. Hi I’m Julie. Hi, I’m Shawna Hi, I’m MotherFucker.” And everybody just stopped and looked at him. Like a record scratch moment stops. The teacher just started scolding him. He seemed perplexed. He genuinely didn’t know what the issue was. Turns out, his dad never called him by name, and he was a very very sheltered kid. His dad would just yell things like “GET YER ASS DOWN HERE MOTHERFUCKER!” His understanding was that his name was MotherFucker. Because that’s what his dad called him, and he only ever really interacted with his dad. It was such a weird experience to deal with him. Because this is just one story of how his home life affected his outlook without him realizing that what he’s saying is very very fucked up shit. I’ve never since seen an entire room be angry with pity all at the same person. He pissed off so many people, but we all had to remind ourselves it’s not his fault. He’s not being an asshole. He just exists in an assholes world.

So that would place this band somewhere between 2010-2015. And only listened to by kids/young teens. Which explains why I had never heard of them before. I would have been in my 30s by that point.

That same feeling was pretty much everyday with him. Like I said, that’s just one of the things he said. I don’t remember any of my classmates names. I remember the teacher absolutely would not allow him to call himself MotherFucker. One kid tried being something between class clown and bully. So he kept laughing and calling him MotherFucker. To which the kid had no reaction. It would be like laughing and telling Steve that his name was Steve, and laughing again while Steve is confused because thats his name. That’s how MotherFucker felt. Meanwhile the bully was trying to make the rest of the class laugh, but we didn’t laugh. We just thought the bully was an asshole. Another day on show and tell, we all brought our favorite toys. He brought a wood block with a face drawn in sharpie. For my show and tell, I brought my favorite toy. The teenage mutant ninja turtles. Everyone brought their favorite toys. When we saw what he had, everyone just had this awkward silence. The smart girl, who always got straight As stood up without being prompted, and gave him her science set. Then another kid…and another. I hated giving up my ninja turtles toys. I remember being furious with his dad that day. So I made him 2 cards. One for him, one for his dad. The card I gave to him was just me telling him how he’s a good kid, and I’m happy to be his friend. I gave him both cards, and my 4 ninja turtles. Every kid gave him their favorite toys. It became one of the defining moments in my childhood that defined my outlook of sometimes needing to sacrifice a bit to help others. I was mad I had to give up my ninja turtles, but also look at him. He’s got an abusive dad, a broken home life, and now his favorite toy is a block of scrap wood. How can I flaunt my ninja turtles when he has so little? I remember my 5 year old brain having that train of thought as I watched everyone go to him one by one and give their toys. I hated it, but I knew I had to also give him my toys. That may seem like nothing now. I’m 42, and giving some toys away seems like nothing. But at 5 years old I loved those toys. They were on equal footing with my family members in terms of how much I loved them. Because I was 5 years old, and everything at that age is more dramatic. The card for his dad just said “FUCK YOU! MOTHERFUCKER!” and signed it. Then put it in an envelope I made on the spot from tape and a piece of paper. I wrote “DAD” on the envelope, and told him to give that one to his dad. Later I got in trouble at school because his dad got mad that I made him a card. I remember telling the teacher "If I’m in detention for using that language, shouldn’t (kid)'s dad be in detention too? I think differently. It didn’t register in my brain at that age that the dad can’t be sent to detention. I thought of it in cause and effect terms. Cause: I used forbidden language. Effect: I get sent to detention. Ok, so by that logic, shouldn’t the dad also be in detention? Well no. The teacher said she can only send her students to detention. Ok, so who punishes dad? Teacher says nobody can punish him. Ok, so that means after I get out of school I’m free to do all the things I can’t do now? What’s the point? I wasn’t being sarcastic, or a smart ass. I was legitimately asking to understand how this works. So she called my dad, and my dad was mad at her more than me. I got out of detention because of that. Oh, and also my dad bought me 4 more ninja turtles when he found out what happened.

Couple things. Firstly just yesterday there was a headline I saw on Lemmy that said Elon Musk’s Grok was found to have some absurdly high number of child porn images it was trained from. So, yes that absolutely is what would happen, because it just did happen. Secondly, The concept of child porn is what I always thought was banned. The core concept of it at all. That’s what I thought was illegal. So that would cover things like hand drawn fiction. Things like AI content. Things like audio files of simulated or actual child sex. Anything at all promoting the concept of child sexual abuse. Of any kind. I will put it to you like this. I have a fetish that’s rather newish when you consider how long it’s been around compared to other fetishes. It’s absolutely nothing to do with children, or anything illegal. The important thing about my fetish is that it’s rather new. And back in the year 2000 this fetish got a website which was kind of the unofficial official home of our fetish. In those days the message board had roughly 10,000 registered members. The last time I checked in the year 2008 it had something like 8 million members. This message board was essentially just a centralized place to share content of our fetish. Stories, fictional or real. Images. The internet was too early to share video, but it kind of did anyways. You just had to wait a while, since it was 56k days. And because of all this exposure and new content, the fetish spread. Now on Fetlife, it’s not all that hard to find people with this fetish. We’re kind of everywhere. It’s a harmless fetish that most people laugh at, but it’s still gaining traction. Now lets apply that same concept to child porn. By allowing the creation and distribution of fictional child porn you grow the genre. My fetish started out with 10k members, and grew to millions. We outgrew the original centralized message board because it was too popular that it just spread everywhere else, and suddenly we didn’t need a centralized sharing ground because now it was hosted on every porn site. Today I can’t picture a major general purpose porn site without my fetish. Now imagine a world where that were also true of child porn. Even fictional. Even drawn or AI. It spreads. Then as they become more normalized, they’ll feel more comfortable coming out without being shamed for it. I want every possible avenue of shaming them. I want to shame them out of existence. Not normalize it.

You come home, and ask why there's a watermellon in your kids bed, and the window open. Also, when most people hear "babysitter" they think some 16 year old girl. So instead, hire a 40 year old woman who's looking to make ends meet. That way, after the prank is over, you've still helped someone.

Ubuntu used to be the obvious choice for reviving old systems that couldn’t run Windows It didn’t. It was though. You are living in a bubble. For five years all I ever heard was “You gotta switch to Ubuntu! Windows is awful!” Except this is when I was still using Windows XP, so from my perspective Windows wasn’t awful. It was just out of date. From 2006-2011, that’s all I ever heard was Ubuntu Ubuntu Ubuntu. Finally I looked at Ubuntu, and instantly realized I hated it, but that’s because of personal choice. For the masses, Ubuntu=Linux at one point. If you knew enough to dispute that fact, then you’re already in the Linux ecosystem enough to have your own opinions. But for non-Linux people, I’d say Ubuntu was the default Linux experience for most people for 15ish years. I’d say around 3-4 years ago it started shifting towards Mint. And now Mint is the default experience. The problem is Linux users are very opinionated. Their distro is the best distro. Their distro “just works”. And these opinions are on a spectrum. I don’t mean autism, I mean the opinions are literally a whole spectrum. You could have someone who has almost an identical set-up as you, except they use a different file browser. So, slightly differrent. On the other end of the spectrum you might have someone who uses Arch. Or if you use Arch, maybe they use vanilla Debian. Whatever the specifics, that’s not the point. The point is Linux is a whole range of visions, which is why your vision will never be THE vision for Linux. Because regardless of your opinions, no matter which stance you take, there’s going to be thousands of people who want to tell you how stupid your setup is, and how much better theirs is. But the default Linux experience is just the one that the majority gravitate towards. 90% of normal PC users never change any settings, or try different distros. The difference is that most Linux users aren’t the typical PC users. Linux users like to customize their PC. Most PC users don’t even change the theme. That’s why Windows has such a monopoly. The user buys their PC, plop it on their desk, and the factory settings are good enough. The other thing I find most Linux users do, is they want to grow the Linux base. So they introduce the “easiest” distro, and that becomes the default. For a very long time that was Ubuntu. I actually like Mint, so I personally see this as a good step for being the default. And if you don’t believe that there are users who don’t change their PC or customize things, I’m running ZorinOS, as my first Linux full time use case. The only thing I customized was putting a custom taskbar at the bottom of my screen. Outside of that, my PC hasn’t been updated, or changed in any way since 2023. And if all of this sounds like horror to you, then that just means you have opinions that I don’t have. But you’re also one of the advanced PC users who use linux easily. I still struggle with this. If Windows wasn’t one massive privacy invasion, I’d still be on Windows despite all the things you hate about them. For me it was the spying. Linux just does it’s thing, and isn’t controlled by corporations, so it doesn’t spy. That’s literally the only difference for me. I don’t even update firefox. I’m running 133.0.3. I think firefox is somewhere near version 200.

Oh man. You just reminded me of the time I had to give my cat a flea bath. That was like 20 years ago, but I still remfmber I had to wrap her in a thick towel to act essentially as a cat straight jacket. I kept her head free, but everything below the neck was in a towel. Oooooooh boy did she growl. I hated it, but it had to be done. We got rid of those fleas. And all it cost was traumatizing my baby…and myself. Because I know she hated it. I at least made sure the water was luke warm, so she wouldn’t be cold, or too hot. But still…she HATED that bath.

See, this is why age isn’t always the disqualifier it was for Biden and trump. If Sanders, who’s older then either of them, can come up with common sense solutions that you can agree with, then it becomes a question of WHO’s pitching an idea, rather then how old they are. This right here, is a good idea. Bernie Sanders is batting 1000 when it comes to being on the right side of history with his stances. Old, young, doesn’t matter what time period you look at. There’s pictures from the 1960s of Bernie being arrested at a race riot for siding with the black people as opposed to the police. Right side of history. I think he was in his 20s at the time. Then you have trump…do I even need to point out how incredibly different his ideas are? He makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a fork. Then swirl it around until it all blends together, and then jam it into my brain until my body loses all function. That’s just how I feel at all times living in the hell known as 2026. The fact that I need a checklist of foods to avoid buying, because our government is INTENTIONALLY cutting regulation that allows our foods to be safe, is insane. I wake up everyday questioning how this is actually real life. I keep expecting to wake up, or something reveals it’s all not real…but it’s been 10 years of the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen. I refuse to believe the past 10 years are real. They can’t be. Think of how stupid just…EVERYTHING is. Just blanket cover everything, scorched earth, EVERYTHING is stupid. Please let me just be in a coma. If I wake up, maybe life will make sense again.

I guess my journey into console video games started with the NES my parents bought me in 1986, and ends with the PS5. Because I’m not going to PAY for AI. I’m certainly not going to pay for an extravagant pricey console which promotes AI, while offering nothing of value in return for having paid those prices. If you’re looking for a way to stop this behavior, you grab them by the scruff of their neck. Don’t worry, it doesn’t actually hurt the cat. But it does trigger senses in them that they’re being disciplined. So you grab the scuff of their neck, and act like your wrist is hurt. (the one they were biting/clawing, not the one you’re using to grab the scruff of their neck). Once they realize they’re hurting you, and also realize you can grab them by the scruff of their neck, and are therefore more powerful than them, they’ll stop doing that. Of coarse, this is also assuming you’re being a good cat parent to begin with. I see so many videos online titled “Cats go crazy” or something similiar. They aren’t going crazy. Their humans are usually doing some shit to repeatedly piss off their cat. And eventually the cat says “FUCK THIS!!!” and lashes out. As long as the cat routinely feels safe, and loved with you, the scruff thing works. If your cat feels unwelcome in it’s own home, yes, it will lash out.
