@M@nerdculture.de @crossgolf_rebel@moppels.bar Viel Bloatware ist das bei einem Fairphone ab Werk aber m.E. nicht. Die MyFairphone App plus ein paar wenige Carrier-Apps, von denen dann aber nur die auftaucht in der Lsite aller Apps, die zum eigenen Anbieter passt. Oder hab ich noch was übersehen?

Ob im Vodafone Shop dann noch mehr drauf gepackt wird, weiss ich leider auch nicht.

Vielleicht hilft ja eine Anfrage im Forum. Kann ja sein, dass dort jemand seins bei Vodafone gekauft hat.

@nin80@todon.eu Was Nachhaltigkeit, verbesserte Arbeitsbedingungen, angemessene Löhne angeht, ist man m.E. mit dem Fairphone schon ganz weit vorne, was aktuell machbar ist.

Ich hab mein FP4 jetzt seit bald 3 Jahren, also quasi gleich vom Start weg, und bin zufrieden. Knackpunkt bei vielen scheint mir die Kameraqualität zu sein, aber für mich hat auch das FP3 schon ausreichend gute Fotos gemacht. Da sind die Ansprüche aber offenbar höchst individuell.

@thepaffy@osna.social Android 14 für das FP4 ist in der geschlossenen Beta-Phase, d.h. es kommt definitiv, aber ein konkreter Termin ist m.W. noch nicht bekannt.

Jede Android-Version wird ja nur maximal 3 Jahre unterstützt, d.h. um bis 2028 zu kommen, würde ich davon ausgehen, dass Fairphone für das FP4 noch mindestens Android 16 liefern muss, da die Version 2025 erscheinen wird und alle davor nicht bis 2028 laufen werden.

@tasket@infosec.exchange @AH_99@mastodonapp.uk To be precise: the big camera upgrade of the FP4 was just software, i.e. a better app. The hardware of the camera hasn't changed.
To my knowledge, other OSes can't simply install the new app but first have to integrate some kind of "compatibility". AFAIK Calyx is working on that which means at some time you should get the same improvements like in the stock OS.

@vinishor@bsd.network For the FP1 and FP2 I replaced the battery once for each of the devices. Never had any hardware defect, so I never changed any of the modules. I did buy the transparent backcover for the FP2 because when I had bought it initially, transparent wasn't available.
With the FP4 I'm still on the first battery after 2.5 years. According to AccuBattery Pro it's at 86% of the design capacity. And usually keeping it between 25% and 80% charge it's no problem at all to last for one day.
