@amalia12@mastodon.social Nice! Also, related insight from Lao Tzu:
The army is a tool for the country to prevent calamity under compulsion of necessity, not something to be shown off or manipulated.
Calmness is the course to take. Victory won by relying on lethal weapons and brute force is not glorious.
Such is the way of executioners, people who can kill without sorrow.
It is impossible for a person like that to realize the ambition of unifying the world.

@wagesj45@mastodon.jordanwages.com Nice, plus fascinating. See how much value she puts on loyalty to the dude? It's cuz she's too inexperienced to realize that when everybody says the most important thing to him is loyalty, they might be wrong. She makes herself the MOST loyal, except, it's only a sub-rule for him. Rule 1 is, he's the boss, and if he decides loyalty isn't as important as his current grift, distraction, or mad scramble to avoid accountability, then Laura is a victim of her own insecurity, like all of us.
@ErickaSimone@mastodon.social smh. always down to personal insecurity. nothing a good few years of therapy couldn't fix. jeesus are we in for a ride
@AkaSci@fosstodon.org Held to clear standards? It'll be fun to see the documentation of that claim in discovery for the class action suit alleging violation of constitutional rights.
@ErickaSimone@mastodon.social I am unfamiliar with the liberal version of this behavior. Is it widespread, preponderant? Silencing victims of behavior one abhors. That's some gymnastics, and I can't fathom it. What is their "why"?
@blogdiva@mastodon.social He's a super genius. Not for us to ask. He's a resilient cuss, though, isn't he.
@atrupar@journa.host If Colbert had provided equal time – so close to the start of voting – there would be one less thing to distract from Talarico's message. In this environment, it would have been prudent. As it is, no one need look at merit at all at this point.
@DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social Speaking of EAB, there has been an emergence of an EAB-resistant ash, but you have to keep your eyes peeled for live ashes among the dead ones. If you happen to spot one, contact the extension service and they'll know what to do!
@DoomsdaysCW@kolektiva.social I live in a small town in Mass. and our highway dept. decided to carry its own arbor crew, and they are taking down roadside ashes by the hundreds over three years. I had a 105 year old one that went real fast in one year after a few years of struggling. But new shoots are out anyway. It's entered an infinite loop of never reaching maturity. Wow. There's hope if we watch for the rare ones! Act like REAL stewards.
@thetnholler.bsky.social He must be in a tizzy, cuz he hasn't had any time to work up a good spin. How could he. He has made himself a prisoner of his own choices. If not for the fact that he's president, I'd like to look at this as a fascinating object lesson in classical failures in governance, but it requires a much more serious approach than merely academic.
@dannotdaniel@hellions.cloud hehe that's what happens when you're a genius who can come up with rad designs without engineers or designers to tell you something like burnt hair cologne is a bad idea. genius pfft
@AkaSci@fosstodon.org There's a convincing and timely argument for them to choke on while trying to get their budget ok'd.
@Nonilex@masto.ai So households bore the brunt of this first year of tariffs, to the tune of $1700, right? So cranking up a blanket 15% will surely straighten that out. He went to the Wharton School, you say? He should ask for his money back. He's too trumpy to see that everything he does has consequences, organic consequences. That's what makes it so dangerous. He pretends his obstacles weren't raised up indirectly by himself, so HIS responses will grow wilder. He has bombs.
