@Spiggitzfan It's neoclassicism. It was fashionable in Europe at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. And then all sorts of dictators embraced it: Hitler, Stalin. Maybe the US is just backward? And they didn't realize it was a style from 200 years ago?
