https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/patrick-stewart-dead-star-trek-picardx-men-xavier-1236934412/ Well, this one fucking hurts. Favorite memory was seeing him do a one man show of Dicken's Christmas Carol by UCLA.  It was the first season of TNG, and all the rest of the cast showed up to watch it.  He was just amazing. Yes being on set with him for Picard was wonderful; he was nice and such a hard worker even at his age. But that show. Just incredible. #StarTrek

If anyone likes fantasy books with complex female leads and LGBTQ and disabled rep, but just as importantly interesting and deep worlds, check out Hannah Kaner. Her Fallen Gods trilogy was great, and her newest, A Snake Among Swans, already has me pining for the next book. Cool magic, interesting religions and politics; just really great stuff. #Fantasy #Books

Hey companies (or groups and people), if you're not going to have someone from the company be in your Discord maintaining it, just shut it down. It's worse than an unmaintained website. Once enough spam accumulates and posts of "is anyone here" just do yourself a favor and close it.

If you needed a simple test of what media is not worth believing, just check out how they cover the idea of every kid in the US getting a SpaceX share. Repeating PR uncritically, especially from a known liar, is not journalism

I don't play Magic (nothing against it), but I DO appreciate they credit the card artist on every card. All card games should.

Found a minor Orca Slicer bug and it was literally fixed hours after me reporting it. That is pretty fantastic. I know it happens all over in paid software too, but still. Open Source for the win. #OrcaSlicer #3DPrinting

https://www.avclub.com/david-zaslav-goodbye-video-to-employees "[Zaslav] set about unsuccessfully reducing the company’s $43 billion in debt through rounds of layoffs and canceling film projects. His most high-profile cancellations were an unfinished Batgirl movie and shelving Coyote Vs. Acme, the Looney Tunes movie currently on track to outgross every single Warner Bros. release this year." LOL, brutal. #Movies

Honestly the press shouldn't fight to get back into the White House. Just stop covering it from there entirely. There's no truth to be learned there and it will make him crazy to be ignored.

https://deadline.com/2026/09/david-ellison-paramount-elon-musk-investment-warner-merger-1237111566/ What a shocker *now* this rears its ugly fascist head. Using the playbook all the ultra rich use. Borrow off of a bullshit stock *value* and get *real* money you can use to break things; real money that doesn't even count as income because it's a *loan*. It's a rich person's world and we're just trying to survive in it.

https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/dhs-nspm-7-314a-patriot-act Oh remember when we said the PATRIOT Act would be used against people domestically? "HSI — DHS’ investigative agency, housed under Immigration and Customs Enforcement — used NSPM-7 to justify a wide-ranging investigation into the financial records of unions, climate groups, and more." If you're following at home, NSPM-7 says antifa is a "domestic terrorism operation" and if you oppose this government, you...

Be a fourth as good as Dolly Parton and you'd be an amazingly good person. Books for kids, charitable work, helping sponsor research that resulted in a COVID vaccine; she did so many good things. May her memory be a blessing.
