There's a great horned owl hooting and squawking across the road. We've heard one once before since moving in, just about exactly a year ago. Must be the season of the owl.

Taking the cat as my inspiration I am going to begin announcing my impending poops by running around the house and yowling.

This is an unintentional public post that was meant to be private so I'll add alt text in a minute... EDIT: And there's the alt text.

Every night while I sleep a small army of people on the other side of the world is busily sending me emails offering their services to improve my personal website with SEO, AI, and mobile apps.

I dreamed I was hired to manage a Jiffy Lube. The first customer that came in on my first day had an electric scooter. No one wanted to tell them it didn't have oil to change. I talked to them and discovered they were concerned because it would stop every time it came to a place where a battle with the British had happened during the Revolutionary War. So I performed an exorcism on their scooter.

I think the reason there's now constantly salt spilled on the dining room table may be because the cat is licking the shaker while we're asleep.

I don't remember ever casting my vote for a write-in candidate before but in one race between two Republicans I wrote in "Any Non-Republican" and then I decided to write it in for unopposed Republicans too. I hate party politics, but anyone who would campaign as a Republican in 2026 deserves to know that is an absolute deal breaker.

Yesterday, at about noon, I saw a dark colored dog with short legs running up the hill. Then there was another that looked just the same. That's when I realized they were coyotes, out for a jog.

Went out to see a guy I'd talked to at the bar play country, both covers and originals, and he was really good. There were six of us in the audience, so I'm really glad I showed up.

Well, my "Imma learn play guitar" guitar just fell over and the headstock broke right off the neck. It wasn't even much of a fall, so WTF Fender? Two days. I owned it two days. But I did pay for two years damage protection so I think I'll be able to get a replacement. Grrr. ETA: Somehow in my annoyance I blamed Gibson, when I should have blamed Fender.

I barely heard Traffic's "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" on a bar playlist over the crowd noise last night, but it was enough for the song to take possession of mind as it always does. So today when I'm reading a Wikipedia article about the UK band The Locomotive having a minor hit in 1968 with an original ska song "Rudi's in Love" and see that their saxophonist was Chris Wood who later joined Traffic, I start following links relate...

For some reason I just remembered how when our son was 10 his friend's dad took them to see Spielberg's film Lincoln, but he thought they were going to see Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter and so he spent the entire movie waiting to find out which members of Congress were secretly vampires.
