thought about 'Digital Sovereignty' being a flawed term. #DigitalSovereignty frames digital infrastructure as something to claim sovereignty over, in the same tradition as kings (sovereigns) laid claim to land and resources in the old days, and states and capitalists continue to do so today. Digital sovereignty allows for, and empowers a mindset of "Proprietary Big Tech is fine, as long as it's *our* Big Tech, with offices in our country". No two enti...

Happy weekend dear fellow fedizens :hamsterdance: Could someone help me figure out a specific #docker #dockerswarm networking thing? I want to deploy a service with multiple replicas on a docker swarm mode cluster. The container replicas / tasks need to be able to reach each other individually at predictable/templateable urls, without manual configuration. I'm trying to make a #coopcloud recipe for #etcd (distributed key-value store). This will only be useful for multi-node co-op clou...

Next weekend (24.-27.) this year's installment of the fully-local LAN party Internyet happens in Uppsala, Sweden. Check it out if you want to take back LAN parties from the commercial esports profit-maxing of authoritarian regimes, while having fun :neocat_nom_bread: https://internyet.party/invite/ RE:https://social.spejset.org/@samuel/115504408300775971 #sweden #uppsala #lanparty #sverige #anticapitalism

Petition in Germany to recognize unpaid contribution to free and open source software projects as 'society-beneficial volunteering' (ehrenamt)! This will give volunteering for e.g. @postmarketOS , @freifunk , @kde , @nextcloud , @Mastodon and other libre projects the same legal status as taking care of an elderly family member or volunteering for a youth association, which provides tax benefits and relaxes requirements for receiving unemployment benefits. Interested people may...

**Meet-up invitation** On Monday (06.04) I leave the arctic for a two-week train trip to Oslo, south Sweden, and possibly Denmark & Germany. I'd love to meet up with folks doing radical stuff in the spaces of - digital self-determination through collective action (hosting co-ops focused on serving individuals and organizations, digital independence days, commons-developing software) - grassroots economic organizing (workers' unions, workers' co-operatives, housi...

I want to be part of a flat collective/network of folks / orgs working together to provide resilient e2ee data storage using free software. Like a file backup / object storage federation of sorts. I want it to be scalable, i.e. folks and orgs who have spare storage capacity can contribute this capacity to the collective, effectively increasing the collective's total storage capacity. The collective should gracefully handle nodes dropping off or quitting the collective, and re-joining....
