  Every youtube link that leads to an ad is a little middle finger from youtube, from the advertiser, from the creator of the video, and from the sharer of the link. People should be more offended by this. It should be seen as a huge social faux pas. Why do we accept this noise so passively?

  CANShunt DIN rail current sense rev 2 lives. It fixes an oops, replaces the "extra" current sensor with Vsense, adds light pipes, and adds a 4-pin XH connector I've standardized on for CAN. I'm chuffed the cover fit on first try. I want the LEDs to roughly indicate current for each channel, but I hate constantly flashing lights.   Another ongoing #electronics project -- thanks to @avi and Rising Tide Research -- is a CANOpen/NMEA2000 IMU. We went with a Microstrain, as that seemed a safe bet. But I threw a cheap ICM20948 on with it, so now I get to compare a $700 and a $7 IMU to see what two orders of magnitude in cost gets you. One thing we're after is "heave" -- a boat term for z-axis displacement. So, I integrate the accels with a high-pass filter, leave it on the desk, and...there's...

  In my life, Ive never lived alone. I went from family house to a series of roommates, to the partner with whom I live now.   Weather was decent, so I had a ride down the #interurban to Greenwood for coffee this afternoon. Lots of bikes out. Runners. Dogs getting walks and sniffs. Love to see it. I dont think I ate enough today though and bonked hard a few miles from home. Struggled to finish and stumbled in the door then straight to the kitchen looking for anything edible to shove in my mouth. #cycling #edmondswa

  This morning I had (another) experience of being stunned by LLM ability. Just amazing to me how good this SW has gotten. I certainly dont know how it will affect society writ large, but hard to think it wont be profound. Like, I'm personally fine with never writing javascript again, but I enjoy getting paid to build other things. And it theoretically could be put to noble use. ..But the state of US society and politics does not inspire confidence re managing big upheavals...so I do wor...
