Another ongoing #electronics project -- thanks to @avi and Rising Tide Research -- is a CANOpen/NMEA2000 IMU. We went with a Microstrain, as that seemed a safe bet. But I threw a cheap ICM20948 on with it, so now I get to compare a $700 and a $7 IMU to see what two orders of magnitude in cost gets you. One thing we're after is "heave" -- a boat term for z-axis displacement. So, I integrate the accels with a high-pass filter, leave it on the desk, and...there's some difference there!
