@georgemonbiot.bsky.social sort of relevant - a nice video on this topic by the late great David Graeber is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6oOj7BzciA (not super specific to Zionism but still a good watch). EDIT - actually if you watch from 8 mins onwards - it is very relevant to this topic.

Cool thing that happened as a result of writing a blog post about Ecosia - was just interviewed by someone carrying out their Masters Thesis, on the topic of search engines (and how independent/more ethical search engines might function). Probably not something I imagined when writing the article... but still a nice thing to do ๐

Having a kind of recurring nightmare that I have transitioned to become a full-time content creator. All I do is spend all day sat watching the news headlines and waiting for my next "hot take". AI is a goldmine for me - the best thing that could have happened to my earnings ๐ I then dress these hot takes up in fancy tweets, toot or whatever, then after lots of cross-posting on socials I turn it into a longform blog post for the Substack. Then I create a video for YouTube...

RE: https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/@EUCommission/117444504119170742 Alternative idea - stop planting Eucalyptus, a non-native species which is highly flammable, planted as a cash crop by short-sighted land owners desperate to earn a few $$$ from a piece of land they've been given (and which costs them a lot to maintain - see the regulations). You see it burning here in photo 1. Portugal and Galicia are surrounded by it. Create a moratorium on planting invasive cash crops like the...

Is anyone else *quite* excited that tomorrow is the release date of Dopamine Chamber?... I'm using Qobuz for streaming these days but not 100% if it'll be available tomorrow already (I think usually there is a delay)... but perhaps a good chance to practice the art of patience...

Thought for the day - imagine if there was a financial cap on how much anyone could earn. If we look at author JK Rowling - apparently over $1 billion net worth - what would the impact have been if her earnings were capped (for arguments sake lets say at $1 million) and then all subsequent earnings were put into some kind of fund for new authors. Money would go towards encouraging more diverse authors, supporting those who wouldn't have had the privilege of an upbringing like many of...

From all the benefits/positives I have seen from the use of AI I am yet to see an example of something that couldn't have been solved with simply providing more resource (more people - or more capital, if you prefer those terms). Any of the scientific breakthroughs or whatever... I'm sure humans could still have achieved. But fundamentally - the research was for what, exactly? Everything is geared towards the idea of progress, of enhancement, of bettering the human race to so...

In a bid to find fellow comrades at the local level, I will tomorrow be putting up a flyer looking like this, in targeted local buildings (the library, etc). I would like some feedback. If you saw this would you: - Be interested in learning more? - Worry about this persons mental state* - Both!!! *this might be a bad joke... sorry if anyone is offended. On a more serious note - I am genuinely trying to find people locally who are interested in tackling Big Tech in a meaningful way, starting...

Seems a nice time to remind people that - if you buy through the RNLI shop - you are directly supporting their important work saving any lives at sea - because all lives matter - not just white ones. https://shop.rnli.org/ #RNLI
