I wonder how many people among my German friends would tell me they voted (or will vote) AfD, if I asked them. This reminds me of the old Berlusconi days in Italy: no one ever admitted voting for him, and yet somehow he always won. Dark days ahead.

Spent some time importing all my presentations to my slidef hosted instance, which I tweaked a bit to my liking (in terms of description, ugly SEO stuff and the like), and I ended up adding even decks I never posted to SlideShare in the first place. I have to say I'm quite happy with how it turned out! https://lminiero.it/talks/

I firmly believe #AI will be the death of #opensource software. When everyone, instead of supporting the developers of #foss they profit from, chooses to ask #ChatGPT or #Claude for help, what do you expect will happen? Consulting and support is how mantainers put food on the table: it was tough before, it's pretty much impossible now (and I've seen it happen already), and yes, projects WILL be abandoned. Is this what we want? Not sure if there's a way back. Any way you...

I literally don't have room any more, but that didn't stop me... a new baby's in the house! A second-hand Cort G200DX, in beautiful natural wood 🧡 The guy that sold it to me made a lot of tweaks to it, including a couple of Seymour Duncan pickups, and it's such a joy to play. I'm attaching a short video I recorded to give it a test, the beginning of the gorgeous "Lena" by Gamalon, a fusion band I really love #guitar #cort #gamalon #lena

First pathetic attempt to record myself playing the flute... I still super-suck, but at least I'm getting somethere! 💪 https://video.lminiero.it/shorts/snowbound/

Hey, I almost missed #BandCampFriday this month... If you don't know that it is, it's a special day in the month where, if you purchase a track or an album, Bandcamp waives the fees it usually takes, which means more money for artists. If you're curious, you can find my new album "Loser", along with a lot of other music, at the link below 🙏🏻 https://lminiero.bandcamp.com

It's #BandcampFriday today, which means more money for artists if you purchase their music there. Yours truly has some music here too, including my latest album "Loser" *wink* *wink* *ca-ching* https://lminiero.bandcamp.com

At the latest #IETF in Vienna, we decided to run a peculiar experiment... stream the #MoQ sessions using #MoQ itself! All using our existing #WebRTC infrastructure as the source for the media. If you want to learn more, this blog post is a detailed overview on how we made that happen. Feedback (and boosts) welcome! https://www.meetecho.com/blog/moq-ietf126/

Dear #Fediverse, I wonder if you'll be able to help me, since so far nobody else could. At about 1:54 in the video below, a beautiful waltz starts playing. I fell in love with it since the first time I heard those notes, but could never place it. I think it's more likely to be a soundtrack, rather than classical music, but no idea where it could be from. I tried asking on Reddit (yuck) and no responses so far. Anyone can help find an answer? Please boost for reach! 🙏 https://...
