RE: https://vtuber.house/@kaliranya/117381582169933157 Naturally, this thing that I definitely did not do has meant I'm slow to get started on the day's stream. But stream I shall! We missed last week due to John being off on adventures, so it's time to get going again! https://twitch.tv/kaliranya #Twitch #LiveStream #KaLiveRa #ENVtuber #vtuber #furry #Live2D #PNGtuber #RPG #BaldursGate3 #videoGames

You know the feeling rebutted by the "two cakes" meme? Where something's not worth doing if you're not *the bestest* at it, getting discouraged if someone else is more skilled? That's... not an innate human thing, is it. It comes from being raised in a hypercompetitive society. You can't just play, you've gotta win. You can't just make art, your art has to sell, and to sell it has to outcompete. You can't just get the gi...

  I named this promo image "Baldur's Gate 3 2026", but I'm beginning to think we'll still be playing it by 2028! Let's make some progress today, shall we? https://twitch.tv/kaliranya #Twitch #LiveStream #KaLiveRa #ENVtuber #vtuber #furry #Live2D #PNGtuber #BaldursGate3 #VideoGames #RPG

Language shifting under my feet: now is it not only awkward to refer to "villain's minions" as "goons" but now I find myself reluctant to say that I "crack" a Clue or other sacrificial game object in Magic: the Gathering #MagicTheGathering #language #slang

I would rather have a freeform "player says what they're trying to do, GM describes whether they succeed or fail" fiat system than "GM tells player to roll some dice, player outputs a number, GM says whether that means success or failure". If you're asking me to engage with the mechanics of the game, I need to know what I'm shooting for. Announce the target number, it's that simple! #TTRPG

John is feeling poorly, so no Baldur's Gate III today, alas! Chance of a make-up stream later in the week.

Remember, kids, don't buy booster packs to get the cards you need Raid dungeons and caves instead. Grab those treasure chests and spellbooks, and get out

if anybody ever redeems the "Kali reads something" channel point thing again I think I'm gonna do the AI hater monologue If I had kids I'd suggest taking this to speech competitions https://anthonymoser.github.io/writing/ai/haterdom/2025/08/26/i-am-an-ai-hater.html

Sometimes when I'm playing a game of the card/board variety, I get more entertainment out of losing in some spectacular or unusual fashion than I would had I won. Yes, one does owe it to the other players to *try* -- there's good reason "throwing" a game is against social contract -- but a hilarious mistake can make for a more memorable play session than a solid victory. I think this would be an alien concept to some folks I've played with...

New cats we still need to get them some toys, so I let the younger one attack my hand look at myself afterward, go "huh, I used to be able to play with a kitten without looking like I'd stuck my hand in a garbage disposal. Is that a getting-old thing?" or maybe girls' skin really is softer, hah

I will never understand this feature of consumer gamer culture Why does every game have to be a Forever Game with content patches or new DLCs or whatever What's so awful about a game you buy, play to conclusion, and then maybe replay or mod if you feel like it Why must every game on the market be potentially The Last Game You'll Ever Need To Play, or it's not worth buying idgi...
