Putting this out there because i've struck out on my own search: Looking for a pixel font in the style of Arial or Tahoma for old Windows 3.1 ~ XP UI text. The catch is that I need it to support CJK and Cyrillic, and ideally be an actual pixel font. Multiple fonts that I can mash together are acceptable as long as they're a similar baseline size. Ideally with bold variants but I can mostly make do without if need be.

Because employers decided that programmers had too much leverage, laid off half of us, and they are left disproportionately with those who didn't speak out for whatever reason. It wasn't caught because catching this sort of thing is not valued by managers. https://bsky.app/profile/majormcdoom.bsky.social/post/3mkwqjjmyvs2u

"i will save time by skipping the boilerplate" actualy just statistical error. most code is not boilerplate. Boilerplate Georg, who assumes that all code written by other people is boilerplate, is a statistical anomaly and should not have been counted

half the point of programming-tool design is to reduce the need for hypervigilance on the user. if we're designing tools that require you to be *more* hypervigilant, legitimately what use are they?

RE: https://unstable.systems/@jneen/116302498173795149 i've seen a couple of people (not on here) make a pretty surprising accusation in response to this piece - namely that i must only ever work on "fun" or "interesting" code, and don't understand slog, glue code, or minor updates and revisions. yall, i maintain *rouge*
