Eating beef is a great way to prove that you don't care about the environment Beef is by far the most environmentally costly food most people can put on their plate, which is why choosing it over alternatives is such a telling signal. Per gram of protein, beef produces many times the greenhouse gas emissions of chicken, eggs, or legumes, mostly from cattle methane and from the forest cleared for pasture and feed. It also demands far more land and water than almost any other common food. The...

What am I doing wrong? I’m still unemployed, after about 200 applications. I’ve automated entire real job workflows involving manual data entry. Had my previous job for 11 months until my employer said I would be required to take on additional responsibilities without additional pay. Chicago, IL. I created my own LLC, have managed multiple projects successfully, have the first orbital racing game which has had 3 paying founders. What should I be doing, what do you think? masland.tech

Reminder that ActiveMatrixRooms.com can help you find active discussions Active Matrix Rooms maintains a live index of public Matrix rooms across the federation. The search engine matches your query against each room’s name, alias, topic, and homeserver domain. Results are ranked by messages per hour rather than by total members, which can be inflated by abandoned accounts. I built this and it’s been live for over 3 months stable at this point, used every day by people to help find the rooms...

The first orbital racing game Slingshot Speeders now has cosmetics and an extreme difficulty rotating map and refueling system It’s free to play in browser without an account. Feel free to ask me any questions, happy to talk about it! The next update will be the Season Zero which won’t be wiped. I plan on creating many more maps through the in-game map making system once is fully live to ensure there’s plenty of challenges along with weeklies. slingshotspeeders.com/changelog

Interesting, I tried it with DeepSeek and got an incorrect response from the direct model without thinking, but then got the correct response with thinking. There's a reason why there's a shift towards "thinking" models, because it forces the model to build its own context before giving a concrete answer. Without DeepThink With DeepThink

I'm in Chicago, I just recently put in my 2 weeks at work because I was given additional responsibilities with no raise in pay. I told them I expected $25 an hour up from $19.50 an hour because I would effectively be taking on the responsibilities of an entire other role in the company which was being integrated into my workflow. They couldn't do it. So now I'm looking for a job that actually pays $25 now because that's the bare minimum for a living wage today.

Answering some concerns: The V2 I'm planning solves the bending issue, using a wider shelving unit with more shelves in less height with two of those lights per shelf directly above each tray. The mylar I'm going to place on each shelf to ensure absolutely no light from below penetrates through the bottom of the trays which I've noticed confuses the sprouts direction of growth. I am using these which seemed really cheap for what I need, and allow for some automation. They are on th...

I solved three issues with the previous setup. One was not enough space for two trays on each shelf slightly overlapped on the previous shelf, solved by having a slightly wider shelf. Two was a single light in the center causing bending during growth, solved by putting two on each shelf. Three was light bleed beneath the trays which was confusing the sprouts at early germination stage, many were going down towards the light bleeding from underneath, solved with mylar. Downsides is I only have 4...

I checked again today, reservoir became basic again so added even more pH down. This is why you soak the rock wool to neutralize, because it's very basic and raises the pH drastically.
