@Phangurl@vmst.io We always watched it when it originally broadcast. Even at 10 years old, the “science” stood out as implausible to me. Like - the basic premise requires the moon to be going faster than light.

  This morning's #workout #music is from Metropolis Ensemble, Erik Hall & Sandbox Percussion doing a piece by Simeon ten Holt: Canto Ostinato (Sections 1-84). Mesmerizing. https://youtu.be/U4ZKqyzVux0 #Minimalism #neoClassicalMusic #chamberMusic #Burpees #KettleBells #Wellness #Seattle

This morning's #workout #music is a live set from FKA Twigs. I am late to the game on this artist. Has been on my "should check out" list for awhile based on the visual images used to sell the music. I am old enough to hear what would have been underground, experimental music back in the day (think Nitzer Ebb, e.g.) - with minimal electronic percussion and minor chord clusters - but this is in a high-budget, pop context now. Interesting. I can see why it's popul...

Just filled out my ballot here in #Seattle. I always research multiple sources to understand the choices and talk to candidates/canvassers when they show up at my door. As far as local journalism goes, the indie paper here, The Stranger, puts the most energy into vetting candidates and issues, but I don’t always agree with their take. This election, we seem to have landed entirely at the same conclusions. https://www.thestranger.com/news/the-strangers-2026-general-election-endorsements/ #Fucki...

RE: https://c.im/@icastico/117457735588936718 And - for god’s sake - vote against the horrible hate initiatives on the ballot this year - millionaires can afford the tax, the parents’ rights initiative is a ruse, and the anti-Trans fantasy that wants girls to show their pussy in order to play sports is both bigoted and misogynistic. #transRightsAreHumanRights #womenRights

@ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org Too many musicians for everyone to know them all. Even the famous ones. We used to play à game that was filling in the blank of ______ is the Bob Dylan of _________. Tom Waits is the Bob Dylan of LA. Townes Van Zandt is the Bob Dylan of Country Westen. Caetano Veloso is the Bob Dylan of Brasíl. So, “Leonard Cohen is the Bob Dylan of Canada” works.

@Sheril@mastodon.social I can’t say I *enjoyed* the first season, but it has some depth and explores some serious issues, as you say. I appreciate it. The execution is excellent and the writing sharp, I just find the main characters so unlikable and the events stressful.
