I'm not religious at all, but I enjoy seeing churches advertise the #Blessingoftheanimals which is on the Feast day of #stfrancisofassisi the Patron Saint of Animals, Oct. 4. https://www.britannica.com/topic/Why-do-churches-bless-pets

My sister told me about this #retail success story of this local grocery supermarket in #China: #pangdonglai It's employee and customer-focused, and locals wait in queues as long as European EES passport control to get in. The #Arkells are fundraising for healthy breakfast programs for #Toronto #publicschools through these baseball cap sales. A GOOD STORY STARTS HERE by Max Kerman from Arkells "I started wearing this homemade hat for my mom, a retired TDSB special education teacher. Every day, she worked to create a safe and engaging place for kids often dealing with difficult circumstances in their lives. She made a difference — and gave parents the comfort of knowing their child was cared for. Now, I w...

When Charlie Kirk had an untimely death, people dug up the receipts for the hatred he spewed. They were right to do so. If your legacy in life is about spreading hate, even as #misogynistic "jokes", your death should similarly receive that same disrespect. "It was just a joke". Well, be prepared to let others have the last laugh where you'te the punchline. Re-posting & replaying your public record crap legacy for the obituary & in memo...

The Clownvoy truckers & maple maga had their F Trudeau merch. Now, #Toronto #cyclists have their moment to be louder with F*ck Ford messaging. I'd also include F #BradBradFORD as well, bc we all know he's a just puppet for DoFo. #FuckDougFord #CycleTO #Bikelanes #onpoli #topoli #NeverVoteConservative

When #CEOs do sh*t for themselves badly : case in point, Jane Smith, #FamilyFirstCreditUnion using #AI. It wasn't even for the business, but bad judgment during personal travels. I'm curious what her direct employees think of her, & what the tea is regarding her leadership. #saginawmichigan #LakeOntario

I hate when the mainstream media glorifies some of these sports athletes as "solid family men" whenever they make appearances with their #wags & families, especially when it's pretty clear they're sh*tstain excuses for humans. I don't want to hear anything about #AlexFormenton or the other dirty players whenever they start families with whatever eye candy arm piece they manage to entrap. Don't frame these POS as the ideal male standard...

#AssiniboineParkConservatory #Winnipeg #manitoba Following the recent rescue of an orphaned #polarbear cub from the Churchill area, the cub is now in the care of the AP Conservancy and is seeking support for its Polar Bear Rescue & Care Team. "The Rice Family will generously match the first $25,000 in donations, doubling your impact for rescued polar bears." The $25k target is less than $1000 away, help them meet their goal! https://www.assiniboinepark.ca/support/dona...

For #RoshHashanah, I tried the #latke Double Down from #SchmaltzAppetizing behind #FatPasha on Howland & #DupontSt #Toronto. It was tasty, but it eats like a taco with the cream cheese shmear & gravlax falling out of it.

Whenever I see IG comments by women in cooking posts against #microwaves, it's so eye-rolling as these same women have no qualms about botox, lip fillers, chemical peels or other cosmetic surgery. Switch to a post about skincare and how many times do women mention tretinoin, which some hold as their holy grail. Calm the F down, you crunchy hypocrites.

#Toronto #readers I recommend checking out the Deer Park library branch near Yonge & St. Clair for withdrawn & donated #books for sale. Most TPL branches have an area for book sales, with proceeds benefitting the library. I used to work nearby & always dropped in to browse, picking up some books here and there because they always had a large selection compared to other branches. I recently stopped in & there were a lot of #largeprintbooks for sale. Prices are us...

I was frustrated & to give myself a timeout to cool down & #selfregulate, I watched some short episodes of #NHKworldJapan's Cat's Eye View of #Japan. I'm not even a #cat person, but I mentioned this series in a previous post for those that are. Cat's Eye View of Japan is a series of short (5min), beautifully shot videos of different places around Japan featuring local resident cats. I never used the #Tubi app to watch anything, but today I fell down the rabbit hole watching #travel #food shows. I started with #TheIslandDiaries & hopped to other shows similar in vein to Stanley Tucci's Searching For Italy. Many are older #BBC lifestyle shows, but just as fascinating to discover local dishes, businesses, people & stories.
