Mmm...I'd forgot how ggod Marmite is on Cheddar Cheese, but I'm trying to use up what's left in the refrigerator, and I remembered I have good Cheddar and Marmite.

Sometimes, I think that in #MMORPGs with multiple world servers, they should set aside some of those servers for certain age brackets, mainly because boys and young men are so tiresome when they start acting up in game. Like, how about a 30-up server? Most young men get the arrogance taken out of them by that time. #gaming

Although I think there a lot to be desired in #FFXIV, I like it well enough that I wish I could afford a computer that could play it at max graphics settings at 4K, just to be able to see the full beauty of it.

OMG, I just opened up a toolbox that has been in my basement for 9 years, and it reeks of mildew. I had a leather toolbelt and a canvas apron in there that started growing mildew. I tossed those, and I'm airing out the toolbox, but now my whol ehouse reeks of mildew, and I don't have time right now to do anything else about it.

People are always so surprised when they connect systems to the Internet that should never be connected to the Internet, and then thos systems are attacked.

When Trump said "Drill, baby, drill," what he really meant was how much hip action he wanted Putin to give while fellating him. By lifting the embargo on Russian oil, Donald Trump is adhering to the enemies of the United States of America and giving them Aid and Comfort. That is the definition of TREASON, the only crime defined in the text of the Constitution of the United States, see Article III, Section 3. Impeach, Convict, Remove. Prosecute, Convict, Execute. #USpol

A year or two ago, a friend of mine sent me some Penzey's Granulated Shallot, because the shipping cost is too much for me to order one jar, and in the package was a sample baggie of their RESIST! Seasoning (black pepper, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, white pepper, chipotle). I liked it so much, I started making something similar from what I have in my kitchen, but I've added to it. Recipe to follow:

Thinking about late nights at Manila Bay Bar & Grill in North Philadelphia, almost 20 years ago. Karaoke nights with many bottles of Red Horse, and plates of the best inihaw na baboy I've ever had. I was born in NYC, and my father didn't teach us any Filipino languages, so the only Filipino song I can really sing is "Dahil sa Iyo". When everyone at the bar demanded I sing, too, I had them put that on. You should have seen the shock on their faces! 🤣 It's really such...

You know what would make #Mastodon even better? Making the post composition window larger than the post reading frame. I'm old enough that even with reading glasses, my #eyesight needs the composition window larger so that I can locate the cursor accurately when editing. I don't need to edit other people's posts. Make the composition window text at least as large as the featured post text, maybe even larger, not the size of the thread text. #UX #UI #quality #disability #design #ac...

I ended up adding some sugar (a rounded teaspoon) to the tomato sauce, because wow do canned tomatoes have so much citric acid added to them, these days (I swear it wasn't this bad 30 years ago), and let the sauce cook down enough so that it's pretty good, and now I'm cooking 112 g (4 oz) penne rigate in 3 cups water until the water is mostly gone and I can add some sauce back to the pan.

One of the things that annoys me about America is that it's almost impossible to buy any kind of pickle that doesn't have dill in it. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike dill, but I don't want dill every time I want a pickle. There is a whole world of pickles that aren't kosher dill (cucumber) pickles or pickled Jalapeño chiles, but you'd never know that from the shelves of most mainstream American markets.

Regulation of #ebikes is a #racism issue, a #classism issue, a #feminism issue, an #ageism issue, and an #ableism issue. Policing of all kinds, including motor vehicle operation, is always directed disproportionately at people of color, leading to higher rates of license revocation, suspension, citation of infractions and fines against people of color. Power assistance is not just extremely helpful for disabled people, elderly people, and women, in particular… #BikeTooter #FediBike

I have some issues with this article, especially with the paragraph that follows the pullquote, but I'm posting it for reference. ' The racial and ideological split in the Democratic Party has been flipped on its head. White, well-educated liberals are the leading proponents of cultural and identity policies that often alienate swing middle-class voters. Black and other minority Democrats are a strong force for moderation. ' #USpol #NYTimes https://periscope.corsfix.com/?https://w...

I finally used up the years-old batch of Pure Leaf brand English Breakfast Tea, so now I'm back to the Tea India Assam CTC tea. I've been drinking so much more icea tea lately that I need to up my game, because while it tastes so much better than instant iced tea powder, it takes a lot longer to make. I nee to wash out a second half-gallon Mason jar, so I can make iced tea in advance, once I empty the first one. At a pint of tea at a time, a half-gallon jars only holds four glasses.

RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@jupiter/116982485291989890 I think this is hilarious, but, I also have to say, it's just not realistic to think that dragons could have wings and forelimbs like that. The musculature just wouldn't work. There's no way to fit joints together like that and actually have them work hard enough to support the flight of such a creature. #Dragons should not have forelimbs, or they should have no wings, or they should have skeletons that are much more ho...

This kind of thing gets me riled up. Questions like this are malformed for a variety of reasons, starting with the idea that "bugging out" is a realistic thing for which you should prepare, and that a knife of some sort is an appropriate thing to put in a so-called "bugout bag". #survival #preparedness #knives #BugoutBags

Speaking of dip pen inks, I was thinking about the Winsor & Newton Drawing inks, and I had to struggle to remember that they have two different black "Indian inks", one of which is shellac based and therefore waterproof (Black Indian Ink), and one of which is glue based and therefore non-waterproof (Liquid Indian Ink, which they actually say is a liquid form of Chinese stick ink, and is labelled as Chinese ink in French). #artsupplies

Unfortunately, the Canadian person who decided to respond to my comments about reducing energy consumption turned out to, in addition to not being a critical thinker, also be asking disingenuously, and devolved into base insults. But here's a few thoughts: 1. The "law of holes": If you find yourself in a hole, and you want to get out of it, first stop digging. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_holes 2. I love Japanese Nambu cast iron ware, so of course I also love this Peugeot cast iron pepper mill (made in France), but the price they are asking for it is a bit silly. $85 USD MSRP, $78 on Amazon. Not that I need it, anyway. I don't really have a proper dining table or guests to impress, and I've got several perfectly good Kuhn Rikon ceramic grinders. It's just so pretty, though.

Watching the latest video from Slow Commute Club, it dawned on me that the reason I am so indifferent to #bicycle or multiuse paths is because I've mostly lived my life in places where they don't exist, or in places where the traffic on them was so dense with pedestrians that riding bicycles on them is impractical/intrusive. For the past 12 yrs, I've lived in #Vermont, where there are no multiuse paths or #cycling #infrastructure, at all. I am forced to ride the streets. #BikeTooter...

I love the aesthetic of the #TravelersNotebook, but the reality is, they just don't work the way I do. I want and need the flexibility of being able to insert and remove *individual pages*, and for that, nothing beats a #Filofax. I use a Personal Size (95 x 171 mm, or 3.75 x 6.75 in) Week on One Page Diary in my Filofax, and in-between each spread of two weeks, I have inserted a clear Filofax ruler/page marker, and my custom 85 mm width in-between list pages, punched both sides.

RE: https://mementomori.social/@juergen_hubert/116803649219263631 I honestly think the current sell-off is only a temporary "correction", because investors really are that stupid. There is negative value in these companies, but they have to believe there is, or the entire system collapses. Not the economy, mind you, just the vaporware that is eating the planet alive.
