  @keith What it says about me is that I have paid attention to those with legal experience in the open-source and free-software world, and pointed out the legal problems inherent in not defining such terms, in addition to the cybersecurity risks I already identified. That is what distinguishes me from you, the rns Python author, and the handful of also-unaware developers and users who drive the author to write annoyed screeds perennially.

  @keith More thoughtful and intelligent networking hobbyists paid attention to such questions when they were resolved way back in the 20th century, so we need not repeat the dumb mistakes of standardizing on non-open networking software in the 21st century. If you think it's better to use non-open software, please send me your reply via AOL or CompuServe, and not open-source software like that which powers ActivityPub. Thanks!

  So #JTTY is a free-text weak-signal mode built into the new beta version of #WSJTX. Is it compatible with #JS8Call software, which already does this and has been building awesome new features on this foundation for many years, or was it made purposefully incompatible out of spite? And why hasn't anyone else asked this question already?

  @wes that's a horrible suggestion. "CALL" is ambiguous with regards to whether it's one's own call or the other person's call. "%H" can stand for either "his" or "her", and is thereby unambiguous and inclusive at the same time.
