    If you lie when making an argument, beware that the medium is the message. If the medium is a lie, you are communicating that your position is bullshit. If you find yourself lying, take a step back. Maybe your position is wrong. Or maybe your position is right but you can&amp;#39;t defend it, and it&amp;#39;s time to let others speak.

    I&amp;#39;m a bit disappointed about mastodon/fedi. It seems like it does produce a certain kind of discourse. Moralising, purity and hot takes. This is obvious in retrospect. Fedi&amp;#39;s not that different from past versions of facebook/twitter/online forums. Those produced toxicity without a recommendation algorithm. The silver lining is that fedi IS different in that there&amp;#39;s no monetary incentive to make it even worse. What would we structure fedi like if we want it to produce b...
