I'm a bit disappointed about mastodon/fedi. It seems like it does produce a certain kind of discourse. Moralising, purity and hot takes. This is obvious in retrospect. Fedi's not that different from past versions of facebook/twitter/online forums. Those produced toxicity without a recommendation algorithm. The silver lining is that fedi IS different in that there's no monetary incentive to make it even worse. What would we structure fedi like if we want it to produce better conversations?
