  I have not read Malcolm Gladwell’s new book where he makes the claim that American needs more policemen, not fewer. So, it’s possible he covers this. European cities have double the cops America has, and a fraction of the violent crime, but they’re mostly unarmed. There is no precedent for doubling a countries cops, while arming them to the teeth, and remaining a civil society. #ACAB

  I have to admit that “It’s A Wonderful Life” is long, depressing, mostly sad, and fairly tragic. I still like it, but it’s a pretty long slog for a questionable payoff. They all seem pretty happy, but is that really a happy ending? I think the standards were a bit different back then. I’m definitely never getting my wife to watch that again.

  It’s just occurred to me that I’ve been seeing almost no political advertising because all my sports teams suck and I’m not watching any live television. There aren’t even hardly any yard signs in my area, which is weird. If the Democrat gets his ass handed to him, yet again, I’m done listening to anything the local party has to say. One guy, is playing a sax. They often had horns. How many punk bands, whatever they’re calling hardcore now, have horns. IDK, maybe they do. But this was rebellion. The big fuck you.   So, not only will insurance premiums remain too expensive to cover both me and my wife, my wife’s premiums will get even more expensive. I was hoping to get back on insurance this year. Fingers crossed for another year. Before Trump, it cost an exorbitant $700/month for two of us. After Trump, it spiked to $2300.   Sometimes, it’s hard to wrap my head around the idea that in 1976, when I was in First Grade in Edmond, Oklahoma, that Robin Williams and David Letterman were performing comedy in nightclubs. There was a lot more cocaine in their scene, but we did have fire ants and horny toads. Probably pretty similar.

  I’m a little worried about getting older. I’m already over just about everything. I’m not sure I can take another 20+ years of trying to understand what the fuck is going on, let alone give a shit. It’s mostly pointless and stupid, at least all the things people talk about. Life is amazing, but no one talks about that. We’re all keeping up with the Kardashians, Zendaya, or Chalamet. It’s exhausting. I do not enjoy socializing with people and making small talk, I can tell you that much.

  My stepson informed me yesterday that “the government took away my healthcare.” He refuses to vote because “it’s all stupid.” I told him he was voting for the authoritarians, whether he wanted to or not, because they definitely didn’t want him to vote. Maybe he should consider voting for a government that wanted him to have healthcare. He was not moved. Now, he has no healthcare.
