🔥Our history, going up in flames! What is happening in the UK? Fires are destroying so many of our historical Victoria mills. Dalton Mills in Keighley had yet another "mysterious" fire a few weeks ago. I explored this spot a few years ago, now all this history is lost. For future generations, I worry how much will be left of our British industrial heritage. #Victorian #Industrial #Heritage #England #Abandoned #Urbex #UrbanExploration

A Gothic Crypt In The Forest of Scotland This enchanting small building is surrounded by a small woodland. The chapel and crypt were built in the mid-1800s. Built out of local sandstone, the building is small but beautiful. The heavy wooden double doors are studded, in addition to having decorative scrolls and Fleur Di’ Lis metalwork. Above the door is a pointed arch which would have once held stained glass. #Scotland #Gothic #Photography #Explore #History #Chapel #Forest #Spooky #Macabre

(Tulip is one of the patients at the seal rehab centre I am currently working at. Just feeling silly and wanted to share a cute photo of him!) #Seal #Wildlife #Humour #Silly #Story

🔥The Kings Hall Methodist Church, in Southall (London). Built in 1916, left abandoned in 2013, and lost to a devastating fire in 2026. This place has now been erased, and only photos remain. I was lucky enough to explore inside in 2022; although decaying, this place was still so beautiful 🩵. https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/religious/blue-dome-church-england/ #London #History #Architecture #Explore #Abandoned #Southall #Urbex #UrbanExploration

🏚️An abandoned house somewhere in rural England, largely untouched since its last occupant left. The house features a traditional vintage English bedroom. The decor is a mix of 1940s/1950s items. There are numerous clocks and pocket watches, as well as a vintage Jones sewing machine. #Vintage #England #Photography #Timecapsule #LostPlaces #Story

👻 After three visits, I still get goosebumps as I push open the heavy doors and step inside once more. This spectacular control room was built in the 1920s in Art Deco style. Natural light enters through an immense central skylight. Levers, switches, and dials line the walls, while crescent-shaped panels encircle the space. A concrete bunker with a steel door stands to one side, built to protect workers during WW2 air strikes. #ArtDeco #Photography #Architecture #Hungary #LostPlace #Adventure

The once top-secret abandoned bomb facility hidden in an old slate mine. Step inside the subterranean labyrinth of Llanberis Bomb Store, Wales. In the 1930s the slate quarry became a vast RAF munitions store. In January 1942, the roof collapsed burying 14,000 tonnes of bombs (14% of Britain's stock). It took until the 1970s to fully clear the site of bombs. #Llanberis #WorldWar2 #Engineering #History #Explore #Underground #WW2

⛪ An abandoned chapel, somewhere in the north of France. A large timber frame supports a collapsing ceiling; it now bears the weight of the stone arch and the roof above. A small sapling grows from the ground in front of the altar. By some miracle nature has found a way inside and is thriving! #France #Urbex #Photography #History #Chapel #Church #Ruins

🆕🏛️ New location feature: New Parliament House (Old Royal High School), Scotland The UK government bought the site in the 1970s, planning to house the proposed Scottish Assembly here. The failed 1979 devolution referendum left the building in limbo. In 2026, it is being renovated into an event space. 🏰 Château Secession, an abandoned chateau in France that appears filled with relics. Enigmatic and atmospheric, right? Well, not quite. The collection seems to be a hobbyist's personal trove of cheap props and tat, rather than priceless artefacts. For example, the "cannon" was just a pipe balanced on some old cart wheels. The samurai sword was a cheap plastic child's toy, and the globe was likewise a modern trinket. #Photography #Story #France #Chateau #AbandonedPlaces

This 1920s Art Deco crematorium in Romania served the country's secular minority until it was closed in the 1990s. During the Romanian Communist party rule, crematoriums became the state-sanctioned funeral method of the Soviet-backed regime (as well as a convenient way to dispose of those who fell out of favour with the party). #ArtDeco #Romania #History #Photography #Cremation #Crematorium

🏥The Red Cross Hospital, an abandoned sanatorium in Italy. Located atop a remote hill over 1,000 metres above sea level. In the years before antibiotics, facilities like this were the only treatment for many respiratory diseases. The site closed in the 1980s. Today, metal beds stand in silent dormitories, and trees grow inside the bathrooms. https://www.obsidianurbexphotography.com/medical/red-cross-hospital-italy/ #Italy #History #Photography #UrbanExploration #AbandonedPlaces #Sanatorium

🦆 Ay up, duck! These 1960s vehicles are Alvis Stalwart, left abandoned in the forest somewhere in Scotland. British soldiers nicknamed them the Stolly. These 6x6 high-mobility transports are amphibious; they run on land and float in water. Two vector-thrust jets propel them through rivers and lakes. Kind of like massive, angry metal ducks. #Military #Scotland #History #WeirdCarMastodon #Photography #Forest #Machine #Vehicle #Truck
