It is bad luck to kill a spider because they might have informed you about an opportunity to earn £££ working from home in your spare time.

This is just a #poll about the life experience of kids who ended up on Fedi in adulthood. It is not about actual intelligence. Please don’t feel offended, as I am fully aware why perceptions of intelligence in kids are ableist, classist, unfair, influenced by prejudice and generally flawed. (Also I can only do four options). When you were at school you were regarded as:

Eldest (a mature 12) has developed a sudden interest in horror films and is asking me for recommendations and/or permission to watch them. So far I have allowed, but not suggested, Scream and Halloween. I have suggested Tremors and Poltergeist. What would you suggest as roughly age-appropriate horror films that are actually decent and they might actually enjoy? They have watched all of Stranger Things. #AskFedi #horror

Nothing says “change” more than *checks notes* a grey image of a sixty-something white professional man in a shirt and tie with his sleeves rolled up very slightly, with an expression that suggests you’re parking in the spot he usually parks in, which tbf is not a designated parking spot, but he usually parks there and everyone around here knows that, and he accepts that you’re new here, but maybe next time you could remember that, by the way do you follow the football. #ukpol #labour

A lot of you are (no offence intended) massive fucking nerds, so you may not share this experience. However, in my family, there is a long tradition of passing down complete sets of the Chronicles of Narnia from generation to generation, almost completely unread.

I find it baffling that anyone is listening to Wonderwall in the second quarter of the 21st century. It was even mentioned in a Wizard Of Id comic strip this week. It’s no wonder we have no imagination about making the world a better place.

Reading an article about scientists using yeast to make protein-rich cookies from plastic waste. Made me think about the foods of the future. Push comes to shove, which of these would you be content to eat to survive, assuming you’re stuck in a bunker or a spaceship etc. Let’s also assume each is in the form of a protein-rich snack which would taste fine, actually.

The people who want teens to go outside rather than sitting on their screens all day sound like exactly the type or people who would be very sympathetic to a bunch of kids standing around on the corner of their street vaping, swearing, snogging and fingering each other.
