Eldest (a mature 12) has developed a sudden interest in horror films and is asking me for recommendations and/or permission to watch them.
So far I have allowed, but not suggested, Scream and Halloween. I have suggested Tremors and Poltergeist.
What would you suggest as roughly age-appropriate horror films that are actually decent and they might actually enjoy? They have watched all of Stranger Things.

@Nickiquote@mstdn.social I watched Alien around that age and it didn’t do me any harm — likewise The Thing. (Then again I do post on mastodon so who’s to say if I’m well adjusted)
