  I've bought a used #microslop #surface go2 with the m3 CPU and 128GB nvme (it was also available with a Pentium and 64GB eMMC) including a keyboard cover. The battery has only 200 cycles.   I am working with some #embedded #esp32 #websocket for #ClassQuiz. It took me hours why the websocket connection would seemingly random collapse. Now I figured it out after debugging for hours: I configured a timeout for the network socket on the esp32. At least I found it after setting up Wireshark and later #mitmproxy with custom CA certificates... What gave me the final hint were the exact 2 seconds between the websocket opening and closing. #embedded #rust

  I've just received a Manta Kit from #ifixit @iFixit which I paid 55€ for. It was described as "new, but missing/damaged packaging". In the photo I marked every bit that wasn't in the right place (some were double, so some must be missing) and the grime and damage on the screwdrivers themselves. I've contacted them, let's see how they react. But this is completely unacceptable and has nothing to do with "we checked the item"

  Due to the extreme heat today, one rail company pauses operation for 6h. Instead, on one essential line, a replacement train without AC will run. All other lines have indirect counterparts, but still make you change trains more often than the normal line. Normally, modern trains with AC would run on these routes. What kind of BS is that? I mean, I get the idea of protecting staff, but then having to resort to non-ac trains? WTF? It's 40C+ #PublicTransport #öpnv #nrw #bahn #nationale...

  I just had to reach out to #jlcpcb as my shipment seems stuck. And I was surprised: I opened the chat, told the AI my shipment is stuck and literally 5 seconds later "A customer agent joined the chat". That's freaking awesome! And it felt like the agent was typing at 200 words/minute, as quickly as they responded, also without a translator (due to spelling mistakes, which I domn't mind). Let's see if they keep the promise on following up via mail

  I'd like to have a word with the #HitachiRail engineer that decided to put the #ac outlets on the floor, blasting the feet and placing the temperature sensor on the ceiling! That's what I'd call a design flaw. And I suffered 2h through that.
