Welp, first surgery was a failure, surgeon can’t find the tissue he surgically attached last week 🤷♂️ Another month of walking outside or on the treadmill, and no swimming. Keep up #runnersofmastodon, I’ll be back eventually 😀 #longcovid

One helluva surgery out of the way, keeping food down, and recovering at my folks' home. No oxycodone for now; I'll try to avoid it. The vestibular system is a giant WTF, but I can still type a little. Oof, this is a journey that really sucks. #LongCovid I hope others are doing well, if not better than my recent crash anyway.

FFS, I’ve been deteriorating rapidly the past two months with #LongCovid. One reason I struggle to seek treatments for my symptoms is this: I can’t keep up sympons, specifically potassium (hypokalemia life long), and the ER always pins it on my pre existing MH issues. I started showing up to the ED for low potassium (at one point in the 2s), and severe sore throat (no structural cause they found). I have metabolic syndrome from covid (no, not nearly obese, very active and healthy lifestyle unt...

1 day pre-op for PLF patching and repair. Hopefully some progress tomorrow. In and out of the ED for heart issues that are all a minor cascading dam about to break. Man, I miss my family. #LongCovid

Surgery is finally scheduled for this Thursday to repair a PLF. Finally. 18 months of this hell, and there is the first of a few surgeries to come. I am not sure if I'll be able to ever run beyond an elliptical again (I have a congenital bone problem), but perhaps the balance issues can be addressed once more in round two of vestibular rehab after my #thirdwindowpathology is patched and fixed to the best of modern medicine's abilities. Finally got into the LongCovid program at the May...

Welp, while I await surgery, I decided to dust off my XFCE ClassicLooks theme I forked like 5 years ago, tweaking it for Gnome/GTK4 as well (and Qt5 and Qt6 - probably overkill though). Shot of the Solaris ClassicLooks theme on the Gnome Desktop. #linux #solairs #themes #archlinux

Welp, this will be my last run until after surgery. Is there a Walkers of Mastodon, lol? 😆 I will be doing more walking and light elliptical use. I've had multiple instances of collapsed vestibular episodes, and I'm done powering through this in the interest of not losing my hearing, or worse. I'm one stubborn son of a bitch, but I've been doing more damage to my body over the last 14 months than I should have been (under the guise of this being long covid and p...

Indoor run today, windy and cooler out. Looks like spring (proverbial) took a break for a week 😄 City turned off the holiday lights; very northern State thing to do. #running #runnersofmastodon

And here it is, my second outdoor run this year! Two in one week. Some nicer weather. Health has been meh, but I was able to finish strong for both (only latest shown). #running #runnersofmastodon

@da_667@infosec.exchange Shit, you don't have to lie about netflix to get me to come over and write suricata rules 😄

Indoor track run. Debated running outside, but the wind started to pick up, and rain was in the forecast (plus random ice and ICE). I figured out the foot pod, so the Garmin is tracking my track runs inside now, somewhat accurately it seems. Hoping to get back to 5 days of running in a week (probably not this one, lol), my health is not doing so great; cholesterol and BP are high, and asthma and chronic pain have been a bit of a struggle. I weigh more than I have ever weighed in my life too, so...

A bit of a hard workout, as I'm trying new meds for BP issues, but not bad. Mulling an outdoor run tomorrow; we'll see, the weather looks right for it. 👀 #running #runnersofmastodon

@bud_t@m.ai6yr.org No way, of course I see someone else who runs with a T1000E card on Mastodon 😅 I’m in a big city, so it seems to work well here, jealous of the remote areas you have access to for your runs, and tinkering with meshtastic.

It's easy for me to say, Not today. I have a deck of health crap that keeps getting worse. The world is in a fragile state. But today, I ran. Health stuff doesn't matter. Political bullshit doesn't matter. I'm free when I run. Fuck Trump. Fuck ICE. Fuck the GOP. Fuck LanguageTool for saying I'm starting too many sentences with fuck. And finally, fuck #longcovid. #running #runnersofmastodon

@bazurk@social.lol I’m a huge fan of this show. Very relatable; just because someone seems to have their shit together, often times they don’t.

@gumnos@mastodon.bsd.cafe When I worked at Bestbuy, we were supposed to sell gold plated parallel port cables for printing, because of oxidation and corrosion. I never went along with it, because it wasn’t based on science, and the standard cables were relatively cheap (1/3 the cost of the gold plated).

Well shit, I'll see how long I keep my P4L plan I had to involve the FCC to keep a few years back. AT&T is garbage for wireless, I'm sure their acquired fiber isn't going to honor my low rate from CL. #isp

@kzodasnowman@spore.social @swoonie@mastodon.ie Diet is on my to-do list and probably harder than resting for me. I love food and had a remarkable metabolism the first half of my life, so now it's time to make the hard dietary changes when I have conditioned myself to not care 😄 My blood sugar is higher (close to 200) typically, and my A1C is pre-diabetic. I'm well within range of a healthy weight, though (heh, they call that out in the video even).

@swoonie@mastodon.ie Thanks man. I'm working on getting checked out later today, and still have my appointment with primary in over a week. Indeed, I've heard that about the resting - and yes, it's a massive struggle for me (I'm a parent too). I was out of work for 2 1/2 months, and it kind of drove me crazy but I did it. I struggle a lot with slowing down since returning to work. I've re-introduced daily day time naps a few weeks ago, but I don't think that is going...

Blood pressure has been up (150 / 90s) the past several weeks (I take daily guanfacine too). I know I'm under a lot of justified stress (fascist regime and all). I haven't been protesting but am doing food, security, and other runs for immigrants in the cities. Likewise, I started taking the propranolol I had this morning, and it's already helping. I probably have POTS, but I haven't seen a cardiologist yet, nor did I go to the Mayo yet for #LongCovid. PCP is out a few weeks. D...

@mookie@lifeiswoohoo.net @AdminKirsty@infosec.space Enjoy! I’m missing the outdoor runs this winter. Indoor track and treadmills for me. I didn’t really think it about it before, ICE is around nabbing folks where I run. I don’t run with papers, and although I could outrun those fascists fatties (heh especially on ice), not so much their bullets 😬
