@cR0w I am offering this to the person who told me about the issue, but I am not sure if they want to pursue it.

OK, where are my MLB conspiracy theorists? I heard from someone that the Dodgers are tanking so that small-market teams can be in the World Series so that will affect the next bargaining agreement and salary cap/floor negotiations. I don't think I quite believe it, but it certainly is a surprising turn of events. For the record I am rooting for the Brewers because I do like small-market teams and underdogs. #MLB #MLBPlayoffs #Dodgers #Brewers

My mom is back at home and doing well, and I was well-caffeinated today. I would like to rain down all the blessings on the barista at Peet's who, after I'd been at the ER until 2am with my mom, gotten an escalation call shortly after 4am, and was headed back to the ER to see my mom at 7am, said to me "oh oops, I accidentally made your drink a large instead of a medium". If I'd been more awake I would have asked for a large in the first place.

Asking for a friend here: someone who doesn't work in Security found a vulnerability in a SaaS used by their child's school that allows impersonation. Any recommendations for a complete newbie to disclose safely without minimal risk of being sued? #Vulnerability #VulnerabilityDisclosure #ResponsibleDisclosure #AdviceNeeded

I have met two kinds of French people this trip: 1. I want to communicate with you. Thank you for making it easier by speaking French. 2. I want to show I am superior to you. I will not speak French with you and I am mad at you for trying to talk to me in my native language. There have been many more of the first group than the second so far. It helps that my teachers taught me a Parisian accent, back in the day.

This is my week for unexpected opera treatments. Tonight is the Opéra National de Paris and their production of Hamlet. This plot is wack. Gertrude and Polonius were in on the murder plot. The Ghost is dressed as a mime or clown, in white with sparkles. Hamlet appears genuinely mad with no cunning. Or maybe he just can’t act? Let’s see what the ending brings. The singing is lovely. #Opera

German and other frequent-traveler friends: I am being subjected to a 5-hour layover in the Munich airport. I do not think I can get into Munich and do anything besides head directly back to the airport - is that right? #Travel #MUC #Munich

We said goodbye to the Miles cat last week. The Ancient One had been with us for 23.5 of his 24.5 years, and he told us it was time. The local weather forecast is stuck on "cloudy, with tears off and on all day". #InMemoriam #Cats #CatsOfMastodon #Caturday

My cat had been deaf for the last few years of his life, but he could tell I was talking to him when he looked at me, so I kept the habit of talking to the cat. It's going to take me some time to get out of the habit, even though the cat IS NOT THERE ANYMORE to talk to. #Grief #Loss #Cats

The couch is WRONG. It should have a cat in a cat bed right there, but there is no cat. There is no cat bed. #Grief #Loss #Cats

This was a hard day. Today we said goodbye to the Ancient One, our twenty four and a half year old orange tabby cat. He was so affectionate, and from the first moment he saw me he had decided I was his person. The house is going to feel so empty and quiet, and so will my heart. #Cats #OldManCat

Oh look, it's a Bay Area baseball team that's announced themselves to be sellers at the trading deadline, Susan Slusser is covering it in detail, Matt Chapman will probably be traded before the month is out. This is all so bloody familiar. #MLB #Baseball #WhatYearIsIt #WhatTeamIsIt

Today I stumbled across a show on PBS about Judi Dench. Well, Judi Dench is amazing, so I started watching it. I found myself put off by watching three men dissect many of her film roles, and gave up halfway through. Yeah, there were no women commentating. I found myself resenting these men talking purely about the acting, and not at all about the 20-year gap between her first films (when she played an ingenue) and the bulk of her film career, where she played an older woman. Not at all about...
