This is victim blaming. Fix the road, provide a sidewalk, drive slower, provide public transit...all are reasonable responses.

@qkslvrwolf@mastodon.social is wildly unrealistic to expect sidewalks on every road anyone might walk on. And crosswalks with lights at every place someone might need to cross a back-road. Even with sidewalks there were plenty of houses the person may have needed to cross to get to which would have made their clothing choice potentially deadly. It was also highly likely they would need to swap sides. It was a low speed road and they were still invisible
