I’ve been out of hospital for four weeks now so thought it would be a good time to provide a bit of an update.
The last three weeks have not been without their challenges. My sleep is still not where I would want it to be, with multiple wakes throughout the night that come to haunt be by mid-afternoon the following day. This can come the form of negative thoughts, and exhaustion. I am using many of the techniques I picked up in hospital and therapy to try and stay on top of this, as well as having a solid safety plan to fall back on when needed.
I am keeping to my medication regime and therapy regime, which at times can be a bit overwhelming. The constant self-reflection and analysis is tiring in of itself even if it is having an overall positive impact. There has also been a round of GP visits and tests to try and get to the bottom of some other health issues that arose during the hospital stay, so that has added to the stress.
I have returned to work and am gradually getting around to visiting my friends and family again. The support I am receiving from them and the online community has made a massive difference to my recovery and I am grateful to each and every one of you.
Thankyou for taking the time to read. Wishing you all good mental health.
