Day 12 #spacetober_challenge is Roman Space Telescope so I made a portrait of its namesake #astronomer Nancy Grace Roman (1925-2018), NASA's 1st chief of astronomy throughout the 60s & 70s, who helped shape the space astronomy program. Nicknamed "mother of Hubble" for her role in planning the revolutionary Hubble Space Telescope, she was active in science communication & an advocate for #womenInSTEM throughout her career. 🧵1/ https://minouette.etsy.com/listing/4586474964 #linocut #printmaking #sciart #histsci
