I've always had a lot of friends who were creative writers and I've edited their work for free as a hobby for years, but recently my partner self-published a book that I put a ton of work into editing and I realized, I'm good at this and really enjoy it, so why not see if I can make it part of my career?

@chickendruid@pagan.plus I love this! I wouldn't even know where to begin, but you already have editing work to your credit, so that helps on a resumé. I hope you get to follow your dream. I know some folks freelance, but I don't know how they connect to writers. They charge a flat fee up front. Writers need editors not just for grammar and spelling, but even more for flow, polish, continuity, and even sensitivity.
