It's why they're spending over $700 million this year just on "*public perception*" (whitewashing and distraction from their lies). When it'd actually cost them nothing at all just to actually 'do the right thing' for once.

In this case "I love your country and love to visit" is a common PR-phrase attibuted to visiting celebrities world over. Everyone should know that it means nothing. The surprise here isn't that Israel lies (pleasantries aren't lies), but that the genocide has been succesfully politisised enough that the pleasantry can't be used without making a statement.
